Three years have passed since Macklemore picked up a Grammy award for his debut album ‘The Heist.’

Since then, the rapper has gone on to tie the knot and become a father to Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty who was born on May 29th of this year.

So, to celebrate the latest chapter of his life the entertainer teams up with producer Ryan Lewis and Brit-Pop sensation Ed Sheeran to create the song ‘Growing Up‘ which leads the way for his brand new album.

No thanks. I’m not even gonna bother to listen. All he is is a male version of Iggy. Equally untalented. Equally un-real Hip Hop. Equally undeserving. Just a pop-rapper for the corny Katy/Miley crowd.

If you didn’t bother to listen, don’t bother commenting on this.

      Just go away.

“Equally un-real hip hop”. Considering the state of hip hop today, that is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Macklemore is no worse than half of the morons (black and white) rapping today.

Hell no, go back to that whole you were in. Hip Hop is doing fine without him, Eminem is enough.

If this weren’t such a cheap singles market, types like Macklemore would be toast after one or two novelty hits. He’s not anything most people would take seriously enough to make the effort to drive to the store to cop. But since everything is now online and just THAT easy to casually get on a lark, I fear he may wind up scoring a few more ridiculously cheesy hits based on trending. From there radio will have to play him, Billboard will abruptly revise their chart tabulation formula five more times in ways that’ll allow him to continue to rule it, then on Grammy night he’ll again be favored over more authentic and deserving rappers whose music actually fits the category and appeals to its demographic. Then, to appear humble and fend off a backlash, he’ll again pretend for 2-3 weeks that he had actually wanted the realer rapper he was up against to win over him, while “acknowledging” his unfair privilege. Honestly, I think Macklemore is worse than Iggy because he’s sneakier.

too bad mack went plat. and sold 2.5 world wide, so your criticism of him is a fail. and mack pretends how? i mean the dude at least went out to marches to protest fergouson. how many black rappers did we see doing that? it may not be much, but it is better than the rappers who were too good to go out with the public to protest.

I am no macklemore fan and i really don’t listen to ed sheeran, BUT, finding out his baby was born today and listening to the song, it is very refreshing for hip hop. he may not be the BEST out there, but the guy makes good music with an actual message, something much harder to do than a rap trap song about selling, strippers, materialistic things etc. the song is about his new born growing up into a world and how it is changing for the better.
i will take a white rapper who is making real hip hop music than another black man that is making a record company by further pushing a stereotype.
