Since the fallout, Minaj has proceeded to eclipse her rival’s shine by setting a singles record across the pond. And now she’s stands toe-to-toe with the mother of soul Aretha Franklin for the most hot 100 hits amongst women.

The release of ‘Make Love‘ with Gucci Mane pushed the head Barb in Charge eye-to-eye to the industry icon, matching Franklin’s 73 count entries to the Hot 100.
Though the ‘Pills n Potions‘ hitmaker matches the vocalist’s entry count, Nicki is only billed as the lead artist on 29 of her Hot 100 100 entries, whereas Aretha has been credited as the lead on all 73 of her hot 100 hits.
Notably, the 34-year-old is the only female rapper that sits atop with the most entries, which her gives her more to material to lace her already braggadocious rhymes.

Just because a song charts on the Hot 100 doesn’t mean it’s a hit. Also, we have to take into consideration that during the 80s and 90s, Billboard changed their rules (as they always do) and made it that only actual singles could chart. But congrats to Nicki. I think Lil Wayne holds the record for most charted singles for a male solo act.
Billboard didn’t start changing their rules until the 2000’s which allowed half of these women to get credit for songs they only featured on. This list would be ALOT smaller had they kept it the way it was, where artists actually earned their hits on their own.

The only thing that bothers me is that now an artist can drop a single/video/album and from 1st week hype, chart (some times high) and fall right off on the 2nd week. Night Long is a flop, but it’s a top 40 because of the hype of the album release. Gags Million Excuses is a top 10, even tho it was only there for a week after the SB hype. I’m just saying to ME, a hit has to be in the top 40 for at least 3 weeks.
