Monica’s ‘Still Standing’: Will You Be Buying?

Published: Tuesday 23rd Mar 2010 by Sam

Monica‘s hotly anticipated 6th studio album ‘Still Standing’ finally hit stores today. The set, which was preceded by the BET reality show of the same name, as well as first single ‘Everything To Me’, looks set to re-affirm the young veteran’s place as one R&B’s premier acts – and rightfully so. The album is, to put it simply, audio fire! Hands down one of the best body’s of work we’ve had the privilege of listening to in a long time.

We’re keen to hear whether you guys are feeling Monica this go round? Will you be buying the LP? Got it already; what do you think of it? Drop your views in the comments section! In the meanwhile, I’ll leave you with, what has to be my favourite Monica cut ever, the Polow Da Don produced ‘Here I Am’ – which is lifted from the album…

Your thoughts?

  5. kerry March 23, 2010

Bought it on Itunes. Love the Album, the variety and the depth. This is what R and B missed.

  6. Michael-Rodney March 23, 2010

Hands down this is one of the best R&B albums to be released in a long time. And undoubtedly the best album that Monica has put out since her After The Storm project. Definitely hoping this emergence of growth will reaffirm her title as music royalty. Love ya Mo!

  7. Renae March 23, 2010

I will be buying. Monica’s albums are always good to me.

  8. movieman March 23, 2010

no , and like me most of the world wont
but she will have decent sales
but it will still flop just like rated r
but the album is better then rated r tho cause thats the pits
but still the album sounds cheap and the vocals sound like the recorded it with a sony sing star mic

  9. cheryl March 23, 2010

yes yes and yes going to Target in a few minutes to pick up my 2 copies…heard great things about this album!

  10. Cutiepie March 23, 2010

    Absolutely love this album.

  11. anon March 23, 2010

could you be a blatent STAN anymore, she is a hasbeen and always WILL BE from now on!!

  12. kc March 23, 2010

I already bought it on Itunes. I love the album and I am really feeling it. It is really better than the makings of me. she has really grew as a artist.

  13. NaiimahRNB March 23, 2010

Yes I will, itunes and from HMV, absolutely love Here I Am….she is an amazing singer, glad shes back

  14. Oh Please March 23, 2010

I’ll be purchasing the album from Target in exactly twenty minutes. I’ve been a Monica supporter since 95. I have every album she’s ever made EXCEPT for The Makings of Me. I was NOT feeling that one at all, but Miss Thang, The Boy is Mine and After The Storm were all the business and I know that Still Standing will be also. Fifteen minutes now.

  15. Puppy Love March 23, 2010

Trent and Sam, what kind of question is that? Hell Yeah I’m buying. Before I go to school..

  16. MARIAHFAN4 March 23, 2010

It’s boring!!!! I’m not going to buy it. In terms of vocals she’s still doing too many runs it makes it sick. Monica is a HAS BEEN. never been a great vocalist, will never be.

  17. Whitwhit March 23, 2010

    @MARIAHFAN4
Why don’t you sit your ass down? I’m sure Monica will outsell Mariah’s “Memoirs”, the biggest flop of all time. Monica is a true vocalist and she sings live, unlike Mariah.

  18. MARIAHFAN4 March 23, 2010

MARIAH’S CD IS HARDLY A FLOP IT MAY NOT BE AS BIG AS EMANCIPATION OF MIMI BUT IT STILL OUTSOLD MOST FEMALE ARTISTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Monica will only sell a thousand copies!!! Such a has been, just like Whitney Houston. No one is going to buy their albums

  19. Fantasiafan March 23, 2010

Monica sounds a hot mess live… She has a studio voice only. The album is good but boring. And sorry to say, she will not have the number 1 album Justin bieber will his album came out today also and went #1 on iTunes in a hour of release.

  20. WHITWHIT March 23, 2010

It’s funny you’re calling Whitney a has been when I Look To You is double platinum and Mariah hasn’t even reached platinum sales……
Monica may not sell like Whitney but at least she puts effort into a solid, quality R&B album, rather than an album full of trash like Memoirs. And Monica has more class than Mariah who can only wear a bikini and roll in the sand in every music video.

  21. WHITWHIT March 23, 2010

Monica has a studio voice only???? LMAO!!!!!! She can outsing Fantasia anyday. I agree that Still Standing is not Monica’s best work and it might not go to #1 because nowadays we have people listening to crap like Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus, but vocally Monica is still one of the best R&B vocalists today.

  22. Dave March 23, 2010

I pre-ordered it weeks ago, & received it in the mail yesterday. I like it, but it gotta grow on me. Just got it again on Zune Marketplace (even though it’s virtually undetectable on there), but Justin Bieber s***** ass get a front add placement in the music marketplace *Smh*

  23. Dilla March 23, 2010

    Just got my copy, yipeee!!!

  24. Puppy Love March 23, 2010

    @Dave

Justin had a front add placement? Really?! Thats sad. Dont get me wrong, I like Justin but Monicas music shits all over Justins’..

  25. twitter.com/Jasonjerel March 23, 2010

Yo Monica’s New Cd is HOT. I Just saw her on the TODAY show she performed. Yes my favorite song is HERE I AM, BELIVING IN ME, and MIRROR. This is FRONT TO BACK GOOD. I wish it was more songs on here. BUT She is really about to go in on this one.

  26. Fantasiafan March 23, 2010

Fantasia voice is way better than monica. Monica can sing but she has nothing on fantasia live

  27. raychel March 23, 2010

This album is amazing 😀 she did so good. here I am is my fav track too, I love it!!

  28. Jace March 23, 2010

Purchased my two copies from Target this morning… I LOVE this album. Def one of the best R&B albums that I’ve heard in a very long time. Its so refreshing to have an artist like Monica whose given us great music throughout her accomplished career, but still had her share pitfalls…and then to see her comeback with Still Standing…Amazing.. HER I AM is AMAZING. LOVE ALL OVER ME IS CLASSIC. Beautiful music indeed.

  29. Anan2 March 23, 2010

Got my copy from HMV today along with Mary J blige’s new album!! Let me put it this way i never enjoyed an album like this after Ms. Kelly back in 2007.

  30. AalexisR (The Bahamas) March 23, 2010

YALL GO GET RAHEEM DEVAUGHN AND LYFE JENNINGS TOO. REAL R&B.

  34. THESKORPIONSHOW March 23, 2010

Not NO but HELL NO, my money won’t be waste on that compilation album with ONLY 10 tracks. Monica get real sweetie or take your tired act back to the damn studio! Only one word can describe this albums body of work & the sales its about to get. . .. .FLOP! Bye Girl Fly Girl. . .NEXT

  35. Dave March 23, 2010

Yes @ Puppy Love, & his album is ahead of hers on iTunes, but atleast it shows she’s selling good this week. & is that the Flopian show talking about something is a flop, isn’t his show a flop? He has a show on YOUTUBE = EPIC FAIL, FLOP!

  36. i’m right & you’re wrong March 23, 2010

I won’t buy it cuz I can’t afford to buy it. I really don’t care for Monica’s music anyway.

  37. MellyMel March 23, 2010

I need a moment of silence! Monica’s cd has left me speechless. I’m in my late 20’s & i remember the 90’s with, Boyz to Men, EnVogue, Anita Baker, Luther V…voices that made you sit & listen. Flashforward to 2010 – radio today don’t play this music anymore. All it is..is s**, non-singers, studio enhanced vocals, autotune, shake my booty music…all pop & no substance. This cd right here is a MASTERPIECE! I had no clue Monica’s vocals were like this. I knew she could sing…but, SANG, SANG, SANG is what she did w/ this cd. Easily the purest R&B soul cd we have received in YEARS!!

  38. CONVERSATION CHAMBER March 23, 2010

[b]I’m gonna need to hear more before deciding to buy it.[/b.]

  40. Khalil March 23, 2010

First let me say this, simply the BEST ALBUM of 2010 and in R&B in a long time. She poured her heart and soul into this album. Some stand outs include “Here I Am” “Love All Over Me” “Mirror” and “Superman” and even Lesson Learned the bonus track on Amazon. Please go get your copy ASAP. This is real talent! Real Singing! A VERY VERY VERY good album. *TEAM MONICA* we did it. She makes music for her fans and guess what we appreciate it.

Now on to the haters. Whoever mentioned about Whitney flopping..um check your stats! She was number one in sevral countries, and already sold 2 million copies to date. Can Mariah say the same? NO! And while yes I did like Mariah’s CD she needs to grow the hell up and stop making them wack ass gimmick songs and keep her clothes on, thanks! So @mariahfan4 shut the f#ck up. Next @movieman you are a hater! Simply that all! @Anon who are you to say she is a has been 15 yrs with some great hits sounds like a vet to me. Lastly @TheSkorpianShow you fat a$$ f** when I see you in Philly ay first Friday cause we know you will be there I am going staright in your mouth. You hater you know I dont like you anyway! You a internet thug.

Anyway Still Standing may not be #1 because of Justin Bieber which is fine we will take number one R&B Album with a number one R&B single! So we still will achieve success, Go Monica! Much love Khalil from DC

  41. Keesha March 23, 2010

I am going to get it, but not right now. I’ll probably get it next week or something. I never buy albums when they first come out anyway, but I do love Monica.

  42. latoyia March 23, 2010

I got it on Itunes and I love the album, but of course Monica never disappoints!!! Go Monica!!

  43. CrackisWack March 23, 2010

    Album is so good.

  44. Khalil March 23, 2010

Album is excellent be sure to get your copy and support real music!

  45. Puppy Love March 23, 2010

    @Dave

Well, thats great to hear because her album is one of the best of 2010. And half the people calling it a flop, probably haven’t even listened to the album yet. Pathetic and childish..

  46. TJ March 23, 2010

AMAZING ALBUM!!!!! I have it, and got the extra song off of Amazon… I’m Speechless.
    GO GET IT!!!

I just bought 2 more copies from bestbuy. I’m giving them to music lover friends. 🙂

  47. Aunt Jackie March 23, 2010

I’m still on the fence about it, I have to listen more, but it’s likely the best R&B album of the year. Keisha Cole’s stuff is great, and I think it will be along the lines of that.

LOL @ Monica having a studio voice only. She was around singing before they even put out ‘Studio SIngers’ on a regular basis. Get the f*** out of here.

LOL @ Monica being a has-been. Her type of music isn’t the most popular right now, but that doesn’t make her a has-been. She’s doing well in her lane, which is R&B not pop. No synthesizers, b*** shaking dance routines, or wacky outfits for Monica. She’s not pop music, so get the f*** out of here.

Seeing those comments made me curse, that’s how ridiculous they are. Once again, get the f*** out of here.

  48. Tru_Charm March 23, 2010

I was a little skeptical about this album. I had about five of the album tracks which only leaves me with five new songs to enjoy (technically eight with the bonus tracks). I have been with Miss Thang since 1995 and I have enjoyed every Monica album. I even enjoyed The Makings of Me which was a brilliant album IMO.
Monica has done what numerous artist refuse to do and that is listen to the fans. She created a masterpiece and its all because she listen to us the good and the bad.
Its no secret the opening track has been around for a couple years. It’s a track I will listen to years from now because of the message. I would have purchased the album just to listen to Love All Over Me. This is the best I have ever heard Mo go in and dominate a song. This ballad is about love, being in love has to be the greatest experience ever.
I have listened to this album non stop from front to back and it is amazing. This is truly a classic that people will celebrate years from now.

  49. Khalil March 23, 2010

@Tru-Charm thanks a lot for the love. *TEAM MONICA*

  50. TJ March 23, 2010

    I GOT MY 3 COPIES!

    I LOVE THIS ALBUM.
“HERE I AM” “SUPERMAN” “LOVE ALL OVER ME” “LESSONS LEARNED”

IF YOU LOVE REAL R&B, IF YOU LOVE A TRUE VOCALIST, BUY THIS ALBUM

MONICA PROVED WHY SHE HAS BEEN IN THE BUSINESS FOR 15 YEARS!

  51. Tamika March 23, 2010

    Great album !!!!!

  52. Tru_Charm March 23, 2010

Khalil, I believe in real music and Monica has been doing this for awhile, 15 years in the game and she is still on top. She might be an underdog but so is Patti LaBelle who has an amazing voice. I don’t think you need to sell millions of records to be in this game It certainly does help. I remember when looks did not matter it was all about the vocals. The 90’s was one of the best eras for R&B music. She truly listened to us. The woman gives us soul and passion. I am truly happy to be one of her supporters. Music has changed it is only about image now. I am glad Monica is still around and I hope to hear more music from her.

  53. Truthwillprevail March 23, 2010

    I will be!

  54. Kristi March 23, 2010

I’ve been riding with Monica since 95. She, Brandy and Aaliyah made the 90’s for me and I’ll always be a fan of hers for that. I’ve never heard a Monica song that I haven’t loved ( I totally loved The Makings of Me and still listen to it all the time) and this cd is no different. Still Standing is an incredible cd and it will make Monica’s 90’s fans happy as well as her newer fans. I don’t see how anybody can be dissappointed with this one because every song in AMAZING.

  55. cool chick March 23, 2010

    Nope

  56. ceeplez March 23, 2010

    coped it!!!!! aye.

  57. Rob March 23, 2010

Yes I am. We need some REAL singers sometimes I’m tired of gimmicks (cough cough Ke$ha, Justin Beiber, Jay Sean…)

  58. Antertain March 23, 2010

I bought my iTunes copy and got it on Sunday night. Got my CD copy on Monday…

This is straight R&B at it’s best. Her voice was KILLING on ALL the tracks.
I also like how there are pop-overtones in songs like Mirror & Believing In Me, without completely straying away from the GENRE she represents!!!

Still Standing: Not my fav beat wise but the message is STRONG & Luda killed it..

One In A Lifetime: Love the hook more than anything else but hot delivery but Monica

Stay or Go: Very easy on the ear album track

Everything To Me: Powerful old skool, REAL SOUL music, Power & Presence

If You Were My Man: Club friendly, great vibes, flavour and makes my head nod constantly

Mirror: Edgy, Strong, Silky, Crossover appeal. Deep lyrics

Here I Am: Raw R&B beat with smooth and powerful delivery from Monica. Interesting lyrics I must say (ohhh she putting it out dere)

Superman: I LOVE Monica’s flow on this track, i’m instantly drawn in, I also LOVE how she comes into the 2nd verse geeez. GIRL GOT Skillz.

Love All Over Me: JD, B. C** & Cristyle CREATED a BEAST and Monica’s VOCALS OMG (Whaaaaattttttttttttt) BIG TUNE!!!!!!!!!

Believeing In Me: POWERFUL SONG, very strong lyrical content DON’T SLEEP ON THIS SONG. Monica really tapped into the right emotions on this one.

Blackberry: Catchy head banger cool bonus track. Mo gave that TLC/T-Boz Swagger when starting the track and then she gets right back on the Monica Miss Thang attitude.

TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THIS ALBUM IS HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTT!!!
Not a dissapointment in any way…..

Hopefully i can get a hold of “All I Know Is Me” and i praying Infinity leaks or saved for next album”

    5/5 CLASSY CD
    TEAM MONICA STILL STANDING!!!

  59. DizzyGuy1985 March 23, 2010

I listened to this CD on Amazon. I like Monica but I really wish she would get back to the Angel of Mine type jionts. Because this CD really isn’t doing it for me. All the songs sound the same and its just boring.

I don’t think this will make it to the top 10. I would be highly surprised if it did. What is going on with these old heads Usher and Monica and Brandy. They used to all be on the top of the charts and now they are not even making it.

I know Toni Braxton may be able to do a little something if she gets her audience right on this new album

  60. truth March 23, 2010

SALES ARENT SO GREAT AS EXPECTED. UNDER 100K MAX FIRST WEEK.. ALBUM IS ONLY #2 ITUNES AND #8 AMAZON. USUALLY HOT ALBUMS JUMP TO #1 BOTH SPOTS RIGHT AFTER MIDNITE THE DAY OF RELEASE OF NOT #1 ON PRE-SELLERS LIST 1-3 DAYS BEFORE. ADMITTEDLY SHE IS A R7B ACT NOT A MASSIVE MAINSTREAM POP ACT SO DONT EXPECT HIGH SALES ANYWAY…

  61. truth March 23, 2010

  62. Khalil March 23, 2010

THIS WAS A COMMENT THAT WAS WORTH RE-POSTING yes Monica you have true fans!
IF YOU DONT LIKE IT GET @ ME ON TWITTER @stillstanding_1

This album is amazing. With there being little to no R&B or urban music out there right now ebcause everyone wants to sing dance-pop/electro and be #1 since Lady Gaga hit the scene and it worked for her it’s time some real music come back out. Rihanna is an example of fast food music. She makes music to go #1. Her writers don’t write substance music that’s appealing and capable of a hit. Sure she has a few songs that hit you but “Hard” is a no as well as singles like “S.O.S.” “Wait Your Turn” and so are the rest of her forgettable tunes “Good Girl Gone Bad” album excluded but this is not about her it’s about an artist who deserves her shine. Monica hit the scene while being a t*** and sounded like a grown woman. Monica worked with writers and the wrote material that was real that she and her fans could relate to instead of playing off of a rocky relationship like Rihanna did with “Rated R” and her relationship with Chris Brown. Monica is true talent like Brandy, Aaliyah, and Beyonce. It’s about time someone has shown the world that R&B too can evolve and it can be succsessful when talking about more than s** (see Trey Songz who can’t leave the topic alone and has finally reached gold after three album releases and six, yes six s** filled singles from the “Ready” album. That being his only album certified by the RIAA it’ll be interesting to see how he follows up. Monica has paved the way for artists like fellow Atlanta native Keri Hilson and another ATLien Ciara. While Ciara may have changed her style to compete with a certain Bajan beauty Keri Hilson has done both Pop and R&B nicely, not making music just to get hits but simply doing quality music. Her album was mostly R&B and when it went pop it was still R&B influenced. Chris Brown has done the same as Keri Hilson. No true R&B artist changes their style up completely and Ms. Monica Arnold has shown that. This album is amazing from beginning to end. She and her writers clearly mesh well together and we’re able to deliver an amazing project and she knows what she wants and what fits her. Aaliyah did the same and delivered every time. This is true talent! It’s vocals at it’s best! Not too much (which Beyonce does at times) and not too little. She delivered just right. The artwork is beautiful. The album is just right. I agree that there could have been a few more tracks but the bonus tracks are decent. The ten tracks that made the album (because the label J Records gave her a ten song cap because her last album failed, which was their fault trying to make her Ciara instead of Monica, “Everytime Tha Beat Drop” was a perfect example of that. They spent money on ten songs and ten only because albums are exspensive to make and since they failed last time they didn’t want to lose a load of money again so to avoid that they put a budget down and I must say the ten tracks chosen should garner Monica a Grammy award for “Best R&B Album” and two others for “Best Female R&B Vocal Performance” for “Everything To Me” and “Best R&B Song” for “Everything To Me”. It’s about time true talent reign once again and that “rihanna reign” finally lets up because it’s getting old having models pose as singers. Singers need to sing, models need to models, actors need to act, dancers need to dance. If you can do more than one great but make sure you’re good at it. Talent needs to rule the industry and not image and it needs to become permanent. Now sure Chris Brown and Keri Hilson don’t have the strongest vocals but can deliver solid performances and albums and Chris can dance well, and Keri can write well. My post was about Monica and true talent needing to rule the industry again. It’s about more than just being able to sing it’s about being able to sing and stand out. Without uniqueness you’re nothing. This album is kick ass and it’s time to kick corny, fast food, no talent, gimmick, image over everything artists out of the music industry and when I say that I mean people like Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Cassie, & Aubrey O’Day. Let true talent like Keyshia Cole (who has had her share of scratchy performances but good nonetheless) Melanie Fiona, and Maxwell run this industry. Forget the talentless people! Call me whatever you’d like after this post, but I said what I had to say because I’m tired of TV and Radio being filled with crap! Quality music is what it’s all about. I know my post is alot but it’s my opinion which is why this comment board is here. I know it may be all over the place but it’s how I feel and I know I’m not the only one. Real talent please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  63. Antertain March 23, 2010

oh the fake guy who claims to be THESKORPIONSHOW on here is FAKE so don’t tap in his comments.

The show is real cool & Still Standing is FIRE!!!!

J.Beiber will prob get no.1 BUT i’m almost infinity percent sure Mo will be in top 2albums on Hot 100 & No.1 in R&B charts

(Sorry ya’ll for long msg but all i’m saying this is great and flows from start to finish)

  64. Anne March 23, 2010

I doubt it, not from what I’ve heard so far. Monica has a good voice but she oversings some songs in my opinion and the recent material is not all that in my opinion. For example, I’m not crazy about the single I hear a lot now (I guess it’s called “Everything I Need”) and when she tries to hit the Deniece Williams notes from the “Silly” sample, she misses in my opinion; the song just makes me want to listen to ‘Neice.

  65. ~TeAM WeeZY~ March 23, 2010

Will definitely be getting this! I love Monica! She is a true artist with a great voice! It’s absolutely no gimmicks with her! She puts her heart and soul into her music and you just don’t get that nowadays! She is real R&B, and that’s what I love most, because I miss real R&B!!!!

And I don’t think her album will be #1 only because of Justin Beiber’s album (max promotion) but I do think she’ll be in the Top 10! I hope she is!!!! YAYYYYY MONICA!!!

  66. marv22 March 23, 2010

I got two copies one of the best albums I have heard in a LONG time…love it love it…my fav songs are Stay or go, here I am, Love all over me, One in a lifetime well I can keep going straight fire!!!

  67. truth March 23, 2010

  70. ACE March 23, 2010

What the hell are some of you listening to? THIS ALBUM IS AUDIO CRACK… I’ve had my hard copy since Saturday. I played it at a little get together for myself on Sat evening and EVERYONE WAS ON IT. THIS ALBUM CAN BE PLAYED FROM BEGINNING TO END and it leaves you satisfied. STOP HATING AND LEARN TO LISTEN SOMETIMES.

AND FOR THE PEOPLE BRINGING UP MARIAH – What cloud are u living on. E=MC2 FLOPPED. MEMOIRS OF IMPERFECT ANGEL- FLOPPED. ANGELS ADVOCATE – SHELVED. Monica has had ONE unsuccessful album thus far AND THE MAKINGS OF ME wasnt that bad it was just too hood for me lol.

  71. stan March 23, 2010

YES. im so glad she’s making a straight r&b album, instead of trying to to a mixed pop-r&b-hiphop sound.

  72. Tru_Charm March 23, 2010

Justin Bieber may come in at number one but on iTunes his album is selling for 5..99 Based on 1,569 he is at 4.5 stars. Monica is sitting in at number two with selling at the standard 9.99, she is at 5 stars. Then we all know all the little white kids will purchase Justin’s album. It gonna be based off quality. I was looking at Justin’s reviews and numerous people do not like his album. The reviews for Monica are pretty solid. I am on Team Monica and I support this project. She will do well especially since som many of you people are purchasing so many copies :0)

  73. Puppy Love March 23, 2010

    @Kahlil

Your comment was long, but I sat and read it and let me just say well written. The people you mentioned, I happen to love to peices

    Chris Brown
    Beyonce
    Monica
    Keri Hilson
    Ciara
    Aaliyah(check the avatar)

I have my copy and have been listening to it all day. This is one of those alblums where you can listen to every single song and not skip a track. I have been waiting on this album for a very long time. If Monica does not get nominated for a grammy for this album, then I know the awards show is rigged cuz this is a great album.

BY THE WAY ANYONE DOUBTING I WROTE IT CHECK MY VERY SAME COMMENT UNDER THE SAME TYPE OF POSTING ABOUT MONICA ON CONCRETELOOP.COM. WHY WAS MY POST DELETED? BECAUSE IT’S TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT THE STATE OF THE MUSIC INDUSTRY RIGHT NOW? BUT THANKS TO KHALIL AGAIN FOR THE REPOST BUT WHOEVER LIKES IT ALL CREDIT IS DUE RIGHT HERE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. ONCE AGAIN. – IKNOW

    @Khalil
I love the fact that you read all those haters their rights… those are the same ppl who wanna listen to pop/dance tracks all the time & don’t know real music if it were to hit them in the face.

This is perhaps one of the best albums to come out in a long time. IT’S stellar, & i love that it came from Monica. She did the damn thing… And I guess its true what they say, “you do something amazing & 9 times outta 10, someone is going to have somethign wrong to say about it”… Sales wise, whatever this album does, truthfully it doesn’t matter, cause this will still be a great album & great sales dont always mean that you have a hit album… I mean look @ Rihanna & Ke$ha… Don’t get me wrong, i like them, but they’re heavily criticized for depending too much on catchy records & not enought on vocal ability.

Congrats Mo! Your album is a winner in my book!!!

  103. Pucci March 23, 2010

sorry i mean to say that “great sales dont always mean that you have a GREAT album”

  104. TJ March 23, 2010

Monica’s CD is selling out in so many places, LARRY JACKSON has tweeted that if you find her CD out of stock at a retail store, tell him VIA Twitter, and he will get more CD’s to the store. (Larry Jackson, VP of A&R for J Records)

He noted on his twitter that her album is SELLING LIKE CRAZY!!!! THIS IS A GOOD LOOK FOR MONICA.. A GREAT ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GET YOUR COPIES!!!!

  105. B-Real March 24, 2010

I’m not even about to comment on these hating people……This album is (in the words of Dylan from Da Band) Hot like Fiya!!!!! You can listen to this album from beginning to end without skipping a song…….Truly a Classic. Unlikely some that shall remain nameless are “Frisbee Worthy” only 3 songs on the entire album is good.

This is Quality R&B, being in my mid 20’s I can def appreciate good music no matter who it is. Monica is on top of her game, Much Luv.
