I don’t understand why some people say her album is a “FLOP.” I think that if an album debuts at #1 that is a major accomplishment. I also think Beyonce’s tours and re-releases help her albums have longevity in terms of sales. For example, her I Am CD had numerous videos released while she was touring. That album stayed on the charts for a very long time and the sales are evidence of her longevity. That formula seems to work so I think “4” will get similar treatment. Thus, there is no “FLOP” when it comes to Beyonce.
Of the subject though, I think it is time the music industry in the USA starts selling CDs at recession friendly prices. I am not saying albums should be 0.99 cents, but how about dropping the price of all CDs to $8 during the first month of release and then having an average price of $8 to $10 per CD.

Something to think about, With Bey starting her promo here in the US, and the Target’s store are often re-stocking her album, I perdict her sales just for the US will be around the 450-550 mark, Just for hard copies brought at the stores. Then you have her out selling in the UK being in the #1 spot in almost 13 countries and #2 spot in almost 6 countries and her promo isnt done yet, this is for hard copies. Now with all the pre-sales for ITUNES I will say about 300 because she was said to be #1 in ITUNES. So when all is said and done and the actual count is given I would say she will have a count near 800- 1 1/2 million in both US & UK sales for first week. Now hate on that. Also I think she will come off on top and get album of the year this go round.

i listern to the album 4 & if i did’nt listern to it i would not have bought it based on who run the world (girls) but because i’ve listern to the album & heard my song Rather Die Young which is a tune. i will buy the album its a 4 star album so i happy that this album has done well, i did’nt like the last album but lucky this album is not like the last, i hope beyonce moves it this direction song wise because i have really missed R&B if she has a big hit with this album we might get more R&B singers singing R&B.

Ok its obvious you like Beyonce Sam but why do you have to slag off other artists just to make a point? am not even a fan but Rihanna has actually done well with her album and was in the top 10 for quite a while, also Britney Spears has done zero promotion in the UK and hasnt had really any hits here thats why her album aint really doing well. It was obvious Beyonce was gonna be number one anyway she has been everywhere and performing at the biggest festival in the UK, having a number one album mean nothing to be honest, their are loads of albums that go to number 1 and fall out the charts very quickly am not saying its gonna happen to her but it happens, but anyway well done to her.

Ive listened to some of the songs and I really like them, I think shes a talented woman and I like her. Most fan comments are just showing that they are happy that 4 is doing so well DESPITE all the hate, DESPITE all of the negativity and DESPITE the reception to the lead single.
Say what you want but, so far Beyonce has proved most of the haters wrong by reaching #1 with such a “terrible”, “flop” album .
Most haters said she would NEVER reach #1 with 4 and now theyre saying she wont sell 3 million, 4 million , 5 million. However even if she DID all of that, the haters would redefine “flop” and “success” and constantly move the goal so that Beyonce would NEVER hit it.
So although the fans are happy with the sales it’s the haters that seem to be OBSESSED with them.
The rest of us are just enjoying the music. That’s all that matters.

On the contrary, considering the way the media and bloggers were making it out that 4 wouldn’t even hit #1 it really isn’t a flop. They’re actually scratching their heads because they thought it would debut like #29 or something. Just shows people are sick of being told which artists and music we should friggin like. Still don’t get the initial hate for the cd. I like that it’s a return to r&b, not the same dance pop p**** stuff like @ChrisJ was saying. But every year people have to attack a major artist because of backlash. Happened with Bionic, years ago with Madonna’s Erotica and Prince’s Lovesexy for example. Next year, I’m sure Katy and Riri will be in the same boat. After a while, bloggers and media gotta find some artist to use as a whipping post. Otherwise, she has a huge devoted fan base who will buy her cds no matter.what the buzz is.
