Love her or loathe her, Lady GaGa stands of one of Pop’s biggest forces. A statement the Grammy committee clearly agree with; for they have tapped the star to ensure next month’s show kicks off and climaxes with a bang.

According to the BBC, the LL Cool J hosted show will see the ‘Judas’ singer open and close festivities.
The unprecedented move is being hailed by many as a massive boost for music’s biggest night, which will also see performances from the likes of Nicki Minaj, Paul McCartney, Rihanna, Coldplay, and Bruno Mars.
Airing live from Los Angeles’ Staples Center, the Grammy Awards 2012 takes place on February 12th.

While GaGa’s material has left That Grape Juice “thirsty” this ‘era’, her ability to “entertain” is non-debatable. As such, we’re excited to see what she’ll deliver. None of the presently announced performers are compelling enough to render the show a “must-watch” (where’s Beyonce when you need her?). Actually Born This Way was the SECOND best selling album WORLDWIDE last year, there is a whole wide world outside f****** America you know! I have a feeling they may have wanted Adele to do one of the performances but its pretty obvious she isn’t going to be fit to perform – Gaga always nails it live, she is the best live performer I have ever seen. She is in her element on stage, such tremendous stage presence, she has a great voice for live music and can play several instruments to a high standard, why do you think all the REAL legends like Liza Minelli, Elton John, Cher, Tony Bennett (I could go on) think so much of HER rather than any of the other younger pop females? Could it possibly be because they recognise her genuine talent and the fact she NEVER lipsyncs?
I’m more interested in what she will perform, the Born This Way performance last year was excellent but I doubt she would do the same song two years in a row. I’d like her to do one of the songs people haven’t heard yet off the Born This Way album, maybe whatever she is considering for her next single? I also hope she wins Best Pop Album, Adele is likely to take the main album award, 2011 really was her year but she isn’t a pop singer, something the Grammies actually get right unlike most people ;o)
