The industry juggernaut reports that Ryan Seacrest made the announcement of the star’s impending hiatus on his radio show earlier this week.
“She’s been in this go mode for a while. Seven hit records in seven years,” he told listeners, before strongly alluding that she’ll be taking a break once her ‘Diamonds World Tour’ has run its course. Indeed, the American Idol host would go on to add: “(She’s had) sold-out tours, but sources say after this tour wraps, she plans to take up to a year off to unwind.”

Ever keen to see her be the best “Rih” she can be, we have drawn up three things she should use her time away from the spotlight to do. Without further adieu…
1) Find A Qualified Vocal Coach
It goes without saying that Rihanna possesses a unique tone. Yet her inability to tap into its best qualities (not to mention incessant smoking) often leaves her sounding like a live exorcism.
As a muscle itself, one’s vocal chords require the right and precise training to ensure solid output. With dedicated help from a professional, we envisage the star turning her vocal water into a fine wine.
2) Practice
Factually speaking, the 25-year-old is the most consistently inconsistent performer in Pop. Indeed, few others can match her uncanny ability to serve up her best performance one minute only to deliver her worst the very next.
A potent potion of politics and promotion have shot Rihanna’s star into the stratosphere. However, in their blind haste, her manufacturers have failed to ensure she is equipped with the ability to actually perform her “job” well. As such, her performances largely remain lazy, laxed, and lethargic.

3) Live Life…For Real
Anyone who follows Ms. Fenty on social media will know that it’s common-practice for her to share her every breathing moment. From love life to club nights, there seems to be an array of pictures attached to support her carefully carved-out gimmick.
And while this is sadly the norm for other artists too, such snaps seem to serve as the main gas mobilizing her fast-paced brand – even more than her fast-food music. The end result? A blur of sorts between the fantasy of Rihanna the character, Rihanna the artist, and Rihanna the person. It’s a blur so cloudy that we doubt the star herself is able to discern which is which.
This is a problem a brief spell away from the spotlight could remedy. Yes, her latest album should have been called ‘Unapologetic(ally Unfinished Demos)’, yet it doesn’t dilute the fact that it boasts a number of mature moments. Moments that point to interesting directions she could take both lyrically and musically with future projects. To artistically discern what those are, she should take a breather to actually live and experience life…for real.
Of course, this is assuming she actually even has a hand in anything she puts out. And if, as we suspect, she doesn’t, she should simply have an arena of seats to a) re-charge b) let people miss her. Say what we do about Ms. Fenty, it’s incredibly hard to knock her work ethic. Stage-parading and p***y-popping aside, she stays working. However, if any of this has been truly as impactful as it’s claimed, she should be able to enjoy the fruits of her labor and in the process create an insatiable demand that will see her smash even harder upon returning.

Even if this post is full a shade (as usual) I agree with Sam. She needs a break, she has been doing this for so long, and at least people will actually miss her, even the haters.

The media has been trying to crush her and Chris Brown because they are YOUNG, BLACK & care deeply for one another! Well I think the break is well-deserved.
I don’t agree with all that Sam said but her performances are inconsistent. Also I don’t think she will completely be out of the spotlight. She has a movie coming out next year ,’Happy Smek-day’. Also she seems to be doing a lot more work fashion-wise so I doubt that she will disappear completely. But I am looking forward to album #8 in after a year.
