Beyonce’s Best Album Is…

Published: Thursday 20th Jun 2013 by David

With a solo career spanning a decade and a run approaching two, Beyonce stands tall as Pop’s most consistent contributor-where a number of her contemporaries have faltered…for one reason or another.

This year, fans anticipate the release of her fifth studio album by way of Sony, ten years after the release of her Grammy winning debut ‘Dangerously In Love‘.

Little is known about this project, but what fans can be sure of is an era set to dwarf her eras of yesteryear on all fronts. Now, as many a critic weighs in on what they hope to hear on the release, we ask…

What is your favorite Beyonce album and why?

Taking its campaign, themes and even look into account, weigh in below!

    • ENOUGH ONIKA (KMART QUEEN) June 20, 2013

4 is really good, I think that’s her best one as well.

      • earthstone June 20, 2013

4 was a flop, only sold 2 million WW.
there are billions of people in the world.
if that was her best then, yall in trouble

      • . : : h 2 o : : . June 20, 2013

It sold 2.9 million btw, not 2

And so what if it was a “flop”? Doesn’t Rihanna have 5 flop albums already?

      • ENOUGH ONIKA (KMART QUEEN) June 20, 2013

@Earthstone I don’t base a great album on “sales” like Rihanna fans cause that’s all they have to hide behind (vocals, choreography, stage presence are non existent with Rihanna). 4 was a artistic and cohesive album with great VOCALS and visuals.

      • TruthSpeaker June 20, 2013

Earthstone- the question was which album was your fav. the question wasn’t which sold the most you retarded waste of human flesh. Go away you seed, no one likes you or the s*** you poop out your mouf! damn, fkn seeds be making my blood boil!

  2. truth(icki’s B**** ASS STANS can EAT ME honey!! Yall b**** is a STANK P**** FLOP chile! (puckers lips like Drake)) June 20, 2013

but i love BDAY AND her first cd. i love I AM too but 4 is my favorite. it’s very grown up

  3. Navy Sailor June 20, 2013

4 because I could listen from start to finish (minus RTW)

    • truth(icki’s B**** ASS STANS can EAT ME honey!! Yall b**** is a STANK P**** FLOP chile! (puckers lips like Drake)) June 20, 2013

COSIGN!!! except i ended up really liking RTW bcus of the EPIC video(her best IMO) and that billboard EPIC performance. Before those two things happened i HATED THAT GOT DAMN song and HER for making it. lol! But it’s sold well over 500k so it was a success altho many called it a flop. But i agree with being able to listen to it str8 thru tho

      • Navy Sailor June 20, 2013

I will admit that I go ooofffff when I hear RTW in the club. The album was perfection including the bonus tracks. Schooling Life is the s***!

    • POP ROYALTY (Bohemian Grove) June 20, 2013

and Minus those s***** RTW remixes at the end as well.

i Always skip those remixes in the speed of light , like in the deluxe version of “Unapologetic” too. 🙄

    • RICHANDBLACK11 June 20, 2013

yesss I love how the Hive and the Navy getting along……I live……4 was the bomb ……Schooling Life>>>>>>>>>>>>

I feel 4 would’ve done better had RTW not been the lead single.

      • truth(icki’s B**** ASS STANS can EAT ME honey!! Yall b**** is a STANK P**** FLOP chile! (puckers lips like Drake)) June 20, 2013

i agree. altho i loved RTW it shouldnt have been the first single but i HATE those rixes of RTW altho i came to love RTW

    • trina June 20, 2013

I have to agree…4 was the only beyonce cd I EVER bought and I can listen to it from start to finish. i’m not a big beyonce fan…but I must give credit that was the best album

  4. Selena Stan June 20, 2013

    Worthless post f*** Beyonce #BYE!

    • CIARA’S NEW ALBUM June 20, 2013

  5. Miss M June 20, 2013

    • LoveIsALosingGame June 20, 2013

Beyonce is so underrated imo. Her albums are always good but her problem is that the only talk about love and her videos are boring.

  6. Apocaldick June 20, 2013

B’day, her 1st solo concept album, video anthology was brilliant, louisiana creole theme was great and in sync with the post katrina politics happening at the time., the woman seeking vengeance theme was great. game changer.. amazing album

    • POP ROYALTY (Bohemian Grove) June 20, 2013

her Most Unoriginal Album , she was copying everybody in this album, Sound wise and visuals wise , i don’t think so.

      • Truth Tea June 20, 2013

^Agree, and Deja Vu may have been worse a choice of a lead single for B’Dat than RTW was for ‘4’.

    Dangerously In Love for me.

  8. DanYiel Teflon June 20, 2013

    Every Album is HOTT!!

  9. I Will Adorn You June 20, 2013

DIL. The fact it came out over 10 years ago and doesn’t sound dated in the slightest. Even CIL doesn’t age.

And the slow jams on there are EVERYTHING. I love her soft voice. A really nice R&B album. People only define it for its hits when its much more than that.

    4 is close second though.

  10. Von Tae’ June 20, 2013

Idk, Too Hard ! I Wanna Say “B’day”, But Then I’d Say “I Am Sasha Fierce” But Then I Love The POWER And Versatility That “4” Had So Its HARD ! Idk. Lmao. But “Dangerously In Love” Is A CLASSIC !

  11. Ernest June 20, 2013

Every album is amazing but my favorite is “4” the maturity, vocals, the arrangement, that album is epic.

  12. Mimi Carey June 20, 2013

4closure was great…. found a copy on the street..

    • . : : h 2 o : : . June 20, 2013

4closure aka. an album being performed at a massive 100M-plus tour AKA. something Mimi can only dream of having?

      • Grande The Way June 20, 2013

Mariah has albums that outsold Bey’s entire solo career

      • . : : h 2 o : : . June 20, 2013

And Beyonce has tours that outgrossed Mimi’s entire touring career, and is a few tens of millions behind of out0wealthing her and she’s only 31. So . . .

      • Grande The Way June 20, 2013

Beyonce is pass her prime, she won’t surpass Mariah ever, not even if you slap on DC stats. We all know Mariah has never been much of a touring artist.

      • . : : h 2 o : : . June 20, 2013

Where did I ever mention album sales lol? Again, I’m talking about net worth : where REAL success is.

Again yes, let’s face it, by this rate, with the whole world’s stadiums and arenas in Beyonce’s hands, she can out-wealth Mariah for dear life whenever she decides to.

      • Queen Brit Brit June 20, 2013

Lol @ the HoodHiv stanning for Beyflop’s bank account full of money they will never touch or hear. That’s what you do when your fav is basic I guess.

  13. Jessie June 20, 2013

I like IASF. It showed her versatility with songs like Disappear, Satellites, Smash into you in comparison to sings like Diva, Single Ladies and Radio!

  14. Lovebird June 20, 2013

Beyonce’s best album is Dangerously in Love, and here’s why.

DIL is the only original album Beyonce has ever done.

B’Day is a watered down ratchet version of Amerie albums. Yawn

IASF is a Good Girl Gone Bad rejected songs catalog (Beyonce never did pop ballads, not until Rihanna started doing them and she has a lot of them on this album)

4 is a cheap attempt at trying to be Adele that failed.

So ya, DIL is Beyonce’s best album.

    • POP ROYALTY (Bohemian Grove) June 20, 2013

I Agree, I don’t like how you Put it that way. But I see No lies, just the way you said it.

4 is So good Regardless of if she wanted to replicate “21” .

    • Fran June 20, 2013

Um so why did one of her most famous ballads Listen come from her second era?

    • Jess June 20, 2013

As much as I want to take what you have to say into consideration…I can’t. From what I’ve observed you seem like a mean and hateful person.

      • ART OF LETTING GO June 20, 2013

because he spills the true tea…jokes, esp coming from the most hateul stanbase among mankind, the hive

      • Jess June 22, 2013

No, because she can never just give props and move the f*** on…And the hive is the most hateful fan base???? Ha in what universe? As far as I’m concerned the Navy is. And in all honesty, you don’t have the right to shade anyone. Not even Ciara or Rita Ora. Because you stan for an artist who doesn’t even have a substantial amount of talent. Then take it up yourselves to shade artist who do smdh.

    • BitchICan’tEvenSpellWelfare June 20, 2013

“21” & “4” sound nothing alike. They are drawing from vastly different musical traditions.

    • Bey Fan June 20, 2013

Im still stuck on this IASF is a GGGB reject? The hell you ppl get this from.

IASF is her most versatile album and sounds NOTHING like GGGB.

      I really dont get it

  15. GILBERT June 20, 2013

Personally, 4 is my fav album from her. It really showed her much-grown and matured vocal capability which is mind blowing. The songs on it also contain great substance which we will still be hearing years from now. 4 also proved and showed that altho it wasn’t a really successful album in terms of radio play or mainstream, it still managed to be #1 and is a classic. I can’t wait for album 5! 😀

  16. remix June 20, 2013

1-Dangerously in love (rnb 2000’s, love up tempos & slow jams of this album)
2-4 (A good album with good vibes)
3-B-day (very hip hop for the sound)
4- I am Sacha Fierce (did not like all Sachas part, a little better for I am)

  17. . : : h 2 o : : . June 20, 2013

    Solo :

    I Am… > B’day > 4 > Sasha Fierce > Dangerously in Love

    Including group albums :

    I Am… > B’day > 4 > Sasha Fierce > The Writing’s on the Wall > Dangerously in Love > Destiny Fulfilled > Destiny’s Child >>>>> Survivor

    • xxx June 20, 2013

      just no

  18. JARED (WHITE DUDE) June 20, 2013

Why does everybody continue to say that her best albums was/is “4”? In my opinion, it was her strongest: artistically and sonically but her weakest, musically and commercially thus far.

Her best album for me will always be “B’Day”.

    -Check On It
    -Upgrade U
    -Kitty Kat
    -Deju Vu
    -Ring The Alarm
    -Flaws & All
    -Green Light
    -Get Me Bodied
    -Beautiful Liar

…Followed by “I Am, Dangerously in Love and 4”.

    • POP ROYALTY (Bohemian Grove) June 20, 2013

      Not B’day.

    • COMMON June 20, 2013

      I agree…

I LOVE “B’Day”. That album was the s*** in 2006/2007 and her live performances were some of the best and most illustrious she has ever done.

    • TRUTH TEA June 20, 2013

      Either B’day or I Am…

      I’m still not sure.

I hated Dangerously in Love… Sorry.

    • truth(icki’s B**** ASS STANS can EAT ME honey!! Yall b**** is a STANK P**** FLOP chile! (puckers lips like Drake)) June 20, 2013

@jared um LOOK HONEY, WE SAYN 4 BCUS THAT’S IS OUR OPINION WHICH IS WHAT SAM ASKED FOR…if you don’t think so then fine but DON’T come for those of us who loved 4! #rolls eyes

  19. Brandys Starr June 20, 2013

What I like about Beys albums all of them are pretty good collectively so its not easy to choose a best one.
But my personal faves are 4 and Dangerously in Love.

  20. PRINCE CARTER FENTY June 20, 2013

I say “4” because the album is a work of art. She put so much passion and emotion in this album. Her vocals are so surreal and beautiful. I Care is my favorite from “4”.

    • truth(icki’s B**** ASS STANS can EAT ME honey!! Yall b**** is a STANK P**** FLOP chile! (puckers lips like Drake)) June 20, 2013

    • ART OF LETTING GO June 20, 2013

      done eating bey’s ass now.

  21. Guy June 20, 2013

For me, definitely 4. I loved the aesthetic of the album and its campaign, as well as the more soulful direction of the music. She felt much more mature and I felt that the promo of the album was a lot less aggressive than B’Day or Sasha Fierce, and she wasn’t everywhere like she is right now (girl needs to stop over saturating herself to every available media outlet. It’s becoming too much!). I was never really a Beyonce fan, nor was I really checking for her before 4.

  22. JuanR June 20, 2013

    ‘Dangerously In Love’
    is CLASSIC! Pure music!

was so full of energy, funk and soul! Maybe my favorite.

    ‘I Am… Sasha Fierce’
Beautiful songs, more pop sound but this was the album that make her a worldwide star. Great concept and promotion!

This album show her evolution. Her vocals are grown and mature. Great music! You can feel the vocals, the guitars, the emotion!

  23. BEYSUS OVER JESUS June 20, 2013

  24. Monstarebel June 20, 2013

Sasha Fierce duh!! It was her most diverse album to date! Its amazing! A Masterpiece! Radio,Sweet Dreams, Broken Hearted Girl, Scared Of Lonely, & Halo Are the major highlights of that album imo.

    • Jess June 20, 2013

Exactly! Beyonce’s most timeless/classic songs are on that album i.e. Halo and Sweet Dreams. Single Ladies was also on that record. Which is Beyonce most popular/iconic track to date. DIL comes in at a close second because Crazy in Love IS BEYONCE! And one of the first songs that I think of when it comes to her. DIL put her on the map foshow lol!

  25. Fran June 20, 2013

IDK it changes with my mood.

All Beyoncé’s albums actually have concepts which is what I love.

  26. SO June 20, 2013

Slow news day. So boring ass question

  27. Finessin June 20, 2013

B’Day will always be my favorite. I love the route she took with Dangerously in Love also, loved the r&b songs but i dont think she will ever top bday. The vocals on that album were flawless, the music was consistent, the singles were the best. Im no longer excited about another Beyonce album though. I forgot how dissapointing 4 was. Im over it.

  28. POP ROYALTY (Bohemian Grove) June 20, 2013

    4: the Remix.

    • . : : h 2 o : : . June 20, 2013

  29. Santa Rih June 20, 2013

“Yes” by Beyoncé has always been one of my favorite songs. I wish she would perform it on tour or acknowledge it or something.

    • MuiMui June 20, 2013

DIL And a song that she song in Dream Girls
“Listen” for me and I love Beyonce and really Love the

1.) Sasha Fierce (Some really great tracks on here)

2.) 4 (So Many Amazing Ballads)

3.) Dangerously In Love (It was decent)

4.) Bday (The album is a mess i only like ring the alarm & irreplaceable )

  33. Hadley June 20, 2013

4 I love it. But I love that theres no ‘obvious’ answer as these comments prove.

  34. My Forehead Tho June 20, 2013

    4 by far…

Vocally that album is untouchable. And Death @ b****** in here thinking that she was trying to imitate Adele.

    • BitchICan’tEvenSpellWelfare June 20, 2013

IKR! The albums sound COMPLETELY different.

    • POP ROYALTY (Bohemian Grove) June 20, 2013

Anyhow, I know i will sound Sarcastic to some, But my fav Album by Her is “4” , the Deluxe Version With Bonus tracks And Alternate version of RTW Music video.

AND i won’t discuss originality in this post.

I own all of her releases.

  35. Yeah I Said It June 20, 2013

Dangerously in Love. I love her soft vocals on it aswell. She sings so s*** on songs like Speechless and Yes 😉

  36. BitchICan’tEvenSpellWelfare June 20, 2013

It was always the album I wanted her to make and the first time I heard it, I knew it would be her most polarizing. “I Miss You” continues to break my heart with its beauty. Love it from start to finish.

  37. Lemme P*** in Your B****(formely known as King B>Rihanna) June 20, 2013

        ok @truth LMFAO!

  38. RoyalKev June 20, 2013

It’s between 4 and B’day. I love both for different reasons. I think 4 is simply a classic album. It has so much depth and it’s also the best I’ve heard from Bey vocally. Bey provided us with a really mature album on 4, some of those gems will be extremely hard to outdo.

B’day is in the running because that album contains the true essence of Bey. She’s a funky, wild woman that likes to experiment with music. That’s what that album feels like to me. Expression. I personally think the sass you find in some of today’s singers sort of derived from this masterpiece.

I appreciate I Am and DIL pretty much the same. Although I’d place them 3rd and 4th respectively, I think each album a*** in painting the entire picture that is Beyonce. DIL set the bar, but B is miles ahead of this by now. I Am allowed us to see that she’s the queen of versatility, but the only way to out to Sasha was to drag in King B.

  39. SLAY_HIVE June 20, 2013

I LOVE them all but my fave is BDAY!!! thats the era i went from fan to STAN!

Her most iconic performance of Deja Vu at the 2006 Bet Awards! I was on the edge of my seat drooling, watching her SLAY that stage! Thats the exact moment i knew history was being made! #LEGENDARY

The music of the era was filled with live instrumentation, dancing, SANGING! and it was all recorded in TWO WEEKS! #BOSS

SOOOO many memories from that era *tear* 🙂 🙂

    • JARED (WHITE DUDE) June 20, 2013

      That album is a “CLASSIC”.

Do you remember when she performed “Ring the Alarm” at the ‘MTV VMA’s’?

      That performance was absolutely everything…

She had some of the most defining songs of her career in that era too: Irreplaceable, Check On It, Deja Vu.

‘The Beyonce Experience Tour’ was also one of her greatest.

      • SLAY_HIVE June 20, 2013

yessssss! i still watch those performances! BDAY is absolutely a classic and introduced her as a truly iconic performer! i even LOVE the unreleased songs from that era…creole s***, lost yo mind! alot of my life during that time is linked to that album! i NEED that again lol

      • rih rox June 20, 2013

        @ Jared

Yes I remember when she performed “ring the alarm” at the VMAs. that was the night she copied Britney’s entry and the exact same costume whilst doing Janet and Michael Jackson dance style.

        She made history that night.

      • Jess June 20, 2013

      • Queen Brit Brit June 20, 2013

LOLOLOL!!! Her poor attempt to imitate Britney at the VMAs is her most iconic performance!! The struggle of being a thief 🙁

  40. #Beautiful June 20, 2013

4!!! It was by far her best vocal and mature album! She’s really grown a lot!

  41. AJ June 20, 2013

My all time Beyonce albums is B’day ….. there is not one track on there that, in my opinion, is a skipped track and it really brought her out of her shell to really take risk and to re-define music, lyrics, beats, and etc!! 4 would be her second best cause of the maturity in her voice and lyrics were REAL and I enjoyed that!!!!

  42. rih rox June 20, 2013

Is this a damage control for that previous post?

Anyways do not expect anything in full including singles but snippets till the YEAR 2015!!!!!!

    • #Beautiful June 20, 2013

You do know that the album will be released in a November right??? And she’s going back on tour! 🙂

      • rih rox June 20, 2013

okay so she said these or are you guys still hyping her in hopes that she will give you something? Because when the time comes and she hasn’t delivered, you will just resort back to your …”she hasn’t confirmed anything ” and “Why do you guys care Anyways?” So on and so forth.

  43. #Beautiful June 20, 2013

Soooo why are people opinions of their favorite albums being disliked??? #hateralert

    • Jess June 20, 2013

That’s what I’m saying. Jeez. All the author asked was a question about her album and people still find a reason to go HAM lol. Its f***** hilarious but sad):

  44. Lana The Legend June 20, 2013

Is album 5 ever coming out tho?

  45. THE HIVE June 20, 2013

    I AM… FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!

  46. Jess June 20, 2013

Wow I was right! Why are the Hive always in the minority on this site or on their own faves post lmfao? This doesn’t happen on any of the other artist post, especially Rihanna’s. All of the positive comments have dislikes under them. I guess what they say is true…its real lonely at the top. That’s a shame.

    • TheArtOfLettingGo June 20, 2013

It happens in the Mariah Carey´s posts a lot too. It´s just that the likes/dislikes in this site are fake.

      • Jess June 20, 2013

Okay thats what I was thinking. And I noticed the same thing in Mariah’s post. Which was crazy to me. I never understood why she or Beyonce received a s*** load of dislikes as opposed to Rihanna, who doesn’t even obtain a substantial amount of talent. Well I figured that or I thought this site was just infiltrated by non musically inclined Navy Stans. But I’m pretty sure its rigged too.

    • MelissaLove June 20, 2013

Alll her albums are lame and rip off of other albums DIL (2003 )was rip off of the Ashanti album (2002)

Bday was a rip off & was based on Ameries style

    Love them all!

    Fun Fact:
Every Beyonce album has at least one Grammy attached to it!

    Dangerously In Love = 5
    B’Day = 1
    I Am… Sasha Fierce = 6
    4 = 1

    The fifth album?????

    • RICHANDBLACK11 June 20, 2013

      yassss sure does

  56. TeamBreezy June 20, 2013

but for real , DIL is a great album! Smooth contemporary R&B with a hint of soul

  57. earth June 20, 2013

I have been waiting for one, I click her posts to see what the hype is and honestly I just think her music is overrated. I don’t like her songs at all.

    4 AND I AM!!!!!!!

  59. boo boo jones June 20, 2013

best album b’day / i am sasha fierce

  60. C June 20, 2013

DIL that era snatched wigs and put Bey on the map – The Visuals, Crazy In Love, Baby Boy, Me Myself And I, Naughty Girl, Bonnie and Clyde 03! All timeless and revolutionary – Kelly Rowland said it best post survivor she on fire who care about my b*******? Kai But .. Bday the depth of that album and songs like deja vu, freakum dress, green light, irreplaceable, resentment, upgrade u, the list goes on timeless soulful. I am /SF b**** just went in on every level thats why it collected them Grammy awards. 4 – The most fantastic album B has put together, When she sang them songs at Glastonbury that night i caught a spirit, 1+1, Party, I Care, Miss You, RTW, End Of Time! Bring on album 5 I’m going to need that baby boy part 2, Frank and Jonte better give Beyonce that movement and I am going to need les twins and tofu tofu to give Bey movement for Grown Woman video! #over!

  61. MariahIsMusic1 June 20, 2013

I got to go with BDAY!
    Deja vu
    Get Me Bodied
    Beautiful Liar
    Ring The Alarm

That album was the ish. Sasha Fierce comes second

  62. XtinaaLovee June 20, 2013

    Bday was her worst

Dangerously in Love was the best

    Sasha fierce was basic

    4 sounded tired

  63. fatusankoh June 20, 2013

for meI love all bey album I have at say 4 long live queen bey Sam post blue with her Nannie is beautifil

  64. THETRUTH June 20, 2013

    • Jess June 20, 2013

Oh, I see. Is that why all of the positive comments have dislikes under them????

  65. My Forehead Tho June 20, 2013

Notice how everybody’s answer is different. Some people are saying ‘4’ was best while ‘DIL’ was worse while others are saying the contrary.

This is why Beyonce is King, because none of her albums sound the same or even similar. They’re all completely different and appeal to different people.

Her 5th album will be everything.

    • TheArtOfLettingGo June 20, 2013

  66. BEYHIVE MUSCLE June 20, 2013

4 is my favorite album since MC’s Butterfly.
Highlights: I Miss You, Love on Top, Schoolin’ Life

  67. LA LA June 20, 2013

There is so many wack people that view this site and all they do is argue about who’s better and how one is going to sell in their first album week sales. Geeeezz….. Calm your hormones! It’s not like Beyonce or Rihanna is paying your bills or even single handedly knows your name that buys their albums! Calm down! It’s good to be a fan and support music that you like but what I don’t get is why people come on here EVERYDAY waiting for a Rihanna/Beyonce post to talk about who’s better and argue? it’s clearly not worth it and it’s a waste of time to argue about it when everyone has there own taste in music.

    – Get A Job

    – Find something more productive to do with your day other than arguing about people you guys don’t even know personally.

    4 …. loved everything about “4”

    • MyPenIzFresh June 21, 2013

I did too.. I love the fact it had a more mature sound. I loved the emotion that went into that cd

  69. RICHANDBLACK11 June 20, 2013

    4, was everthing thing to me(VERY GROWN AND S***)…. DIL,…MASTERPIECE Bday,….OK IASF…..SWEETDREAMS

  70. Chillin June 20, 2013

  71. HIve June 20, 2013

    DIL is legendary

Looks like no one agrees f** H**

      • Azealia Banks Shits On Kia June 20, 2013

Yeah because 22 dislikes in a matter of a few minutes doesn’t make things seem rigged at all smh. Don’t flatter yourself hood rat.

  72. Khia da baddest June 20, 2013

    All her albums are forgettable

    • Azealia Banks Shits On Kia June 20, 2013

Ur forgettable you f****** jump off!

  73. Selenator June 20, 2013

I Am….Sasha Fierce is hands down her best album. Halo alone shits on her other albums. Single Ladies is iconic and Sweet Dream was epic.

  74. Bey Fan June 20, 2013

But she looked the best during Bday era… Beyonce was her sexiest during BDay. Her fashion was on point. Hair was always nice. Skin was flawless (as always).

And when she performed Deja Vu at the BET awards… OMG…

    • Lemme P*** in Your B**** June 20, 2013

yessssssss i got my life from that performance especially when she went the f*** off in the middle of the performance.

      • Bey Fan June 20, 2013

right… lmaooo. I was too damn hyped

  75. TheArtOfLettingGo June 20, 2013

No outstanding catalogue. But her best album is “4”. Without a doubt.
“Dangerously” is the best for many people, but there are some really blah and boring songs in there.
Her best song is “Crazy in Love” without a doubt. It was the time Beyonce impacted the world the most, and the song is a classic, despite being uptempo it doesn´t get old, probably her only classic song. One of the best songs from the 00´s decade. Rihanna´s “classic” is supposed to be “Umbrella” and despite having been released 4 years later, it is starting to sound dated already. No Beyonce fan but all I said is true.

    • Jess June 20, 2013

      Very constructive, I respect that.

    • Rih>Mooriah June 20, 2013

      • TheArtOfLettingGo June 20, 2013

We found Love will sound mega dated in a few years. That sound is dying, and that song is the epitome of generic dance song from the 08-12 era.

  76. Thando June 20, 2013

A b******* artist, who makes b******* music for black homosexual men who enjoy listening to b******* music. Much like every other b******* “artists” that you always talk and argue about. Stupidity is a ubiquitous thing in America, even among the homosexuals.

    • Azealia Banks Shits On Kia June 20, 2013

Whatever you say Khia The Baddest or whatever the f*** your name is.

    • RICHANDBLACK11 June 20, 2013

      Why you mad doe?

  77. Savannah June 20, 2013

4 was her most vulnerable, emotional, romantic and vocally intricate album. The writing, productions, harmonies and vocals were STELLAR. Bey at her best! My personal favorite.

I Am Sasha Fierce was good for what it was. A very commercial pop albums with a few urban bangers. I’d go out on a limb and say that IASF was her most iconic era.

B’day was her most visually exciting era. The Creole theme, fashions and instrumentals were hot. My least fav album of hers though…

Dangerously In Love is the album that solidified Beyonce as a bonafide SUPERSTAR.

  78. Khia da baddest June 20, 2013

    Azealia who that?

    • Azealia Banks Shits On Kia June 20, 2013

Azealia Banks…not some R&B artist who hardly ever takes to twitter but a fellow the rap artist who can rap circles around Khia. The same chick who had a hood bbq theme in her L8TR vid…the chick who Khia was to afraid to call out for it because she knew she’d respond and put her ass on blast…That’s who boo.

    • Bey Fan June 20, 2013

Someone who will murder Khia. (lyrically)

  79. Rih>Mooriah June 20, 2013

I am…. A wanna be.. was her best album

    • Jas June 20, 2013

Just like Good Girl Gone Fefe Dobson was Rihanna’s. And its Mariah>>>>>>>RihAnorexic . H**!

    • #Beautiful June 20, 2013

      Hater….. hater…. hater!

  80. Maestro J June 20, 2013

This is where we saw BEYONCE and not BEYONCE OF DESTINY’S CHILD. The concept the songs the visuals the movement made that album what it was and is. It the ONLY ALBUM she has were almost every song was a single and MAJOR HIT its to me her best coheasive body of work showing all different sides of Beyonce. I love that album and bump it way before the others… although 4 IS A CLOSE 2ND B’Day had that edge that I felt both I AM and 4 lacked … IJS

  81. Khia Da Baddest June 20, 2013

Khia would spit in that h*** face.

    • Azealia Banks Shits On Kia June 20, 2013

Bet that scarey ass b**** wouldn’t

  82. I am June 20, 2013

    4. Not because of commercial success because most artist won’t sell as much as theyre previous album bur it’s because it was more about her real life. Most connected to her and I appreciate that

  83. Anne June 20, 2013

My favorite Beyoncé album is ‘4’. It’s her most mature, diverse, and emotional album in my opinion. It’s also her best vocal and lyrical album; just when I thought she was at her vocal peak she took it to another level.

I love “I Care” not only because it’s so vocally strong but the lyrics and her performance so deeply express the pain someone who still deeply cares for and loves a person would feel if that person use to be loving and attentive didn’t seem to care anymore.

“I’d Rather Die Young” has a beautiful old school sound and the lyrics interestingly border love and obsession.

“Party” is old school backyard barbeque fun with lyrics that put you in the shoes of that teenage girl who thinks she is in love enough to go all the way.

“Countdown” is about that diehard devotion to your man and is just crazy with instrumentation in a good way.

“Start Over” is another strong vocal performance with emotional lyrics about a person who is not ready to give up on a troubled relationship.

My absolute favorite track is “Love On Top” because it’s about that loving and attentive relationship that everyone aspires to and it has that Jackson Five or young Michael vocal inspiration–LOVE IT!

Those are my favorites but I also love “Dance For You,” “Schoolin Life,” and others. I rank her albums as follows:

    ‘I Am Sasha Fierce’
    ‘Dangerously In Love’

  84. KingBeyBitch June 20, 2013

Dangerously in love- IS just a f****** CLASSIC

4- IS close in second that album should sooo much growth ad its nothing like her other albums. BTW this sounds nothing like 21 nothing, 21 was just about a break up but 4 had it all songs that made you happy, sad, loved etc

I am- Was just slaying it was so much versatility and radio friendly

Bday- Was amazing to it felt Bey was just going in on that album

Anyway in my opinion she never put out a BAD album period.

  85. Nana Yaw June 20, 2013

I’m surprise everyone is saying ‘4’? So if ‘4’ was your best album why didn’t you buy it? Why did you allow it to 4lop like that?
The album sold only 2.1 million copies worldwide.

    • KingBeyBitch June 20, 2013

4 has sold 3 million as of the Superbowl bye

      • Nana Yaw June 20, 2013

@KINGBEYBITCH stop inflating the sales figures of ‘4’. The album has sold 2.1 million worldwide as of May 2013!

      • KINGBEYBITCH June 20, 2013

        nobody is inflating anything

        4 sold over 3 million

    • B****** ARE A MESS June 20, 2013

      I agree @ NANA YAW….

They are f****** losers that why! The majority of her fan base are homosexuals who only take time to download torrents, and scream #beehive for life SMH

      • KingBeyBitch June 20, 2013

B**** stop reading Wikipedia which states 2.1 mill, @Chartnews which is way more reliable reported that 4 sold 3 million after the Superbowl have a f****** seat

  86. mark111 June 20, 2013

Dangerously In Love and 4. DiL had the best songs while 4 took a risk and sounds like nothing else. I like I Am disc one, I hwted B-Day, everything was Crazy In Love on repeat. 4 is her Rated R.

  87. B****** ARE A MESS June 20, 2013

All of her Albums suck!!! Her singles are another thing! She hasn’t had a great, or even good album yet..I’m not saying it can’t happen, but it hasn’t! That is all…

    • ENOUGH ONIKA (KMART QUEEN) June 20, 2013

      Unaflopogetic though…

  88. ratedxxx(my favs stays on)) June 20, 2013

I don’t think she has a perfect album out..even when I was a fan of hers, i’ve never listen to her whole albums..granted i get every albums for free,(thanks to the records companies)

her voice to me is not pure…I can tolerate a couple of songs…but all that screaming, trying to sound kills the vibe….

and 4 is her worst album to date…you stans can sit here and deny it all you want..4 was suppose to be a carbon copy of the album 21

  89. JER June 20, 2013

    Dangerously in Love

    Flawless era.

    Wigs were snatched.

    Careers were ended.

    That’s how i like it.

  90. Keep Quiet June 20, 2013

    1. B’Day (hot funky-r’n’b mess with amazing unreleased tracks)
    2. I Am… Sasha Fierce
    3. Dangerously in Love
    4. 4 (only two or three innovative tracks, the rest of the album is a boring cliché)

  91. ratedxxx(my favs stays on)) June 20, 2013

people are quick to throw out numbers….my thing is this just because an album sells over 10 millions doesnt make it a great album…

for example..the album 21 to me was garbage..her voice annoyed the f*** out of me…

the album 4 selling 2 million(i don’t know where 3 million came from) doesnt make it a flop album…

but compare to her other album sales…and all those promotions, releasing all those call epic performances….yea that makes it a flop…

britney last album managed to out sell her without all those promotions…the only major promotions britney had was her sold out tour

    • ERIN June 20, 2013

show me the receipts that the album 4 sold 3 million….because I recall a couple of days ago this blog..who stays deeper in beyonce’s v***** than her own husband, reported that 4 sold 2 million…..

and yes femme fatale has sold over 2 million copies world wide..

  92. B****** ARE A MESS June 20, 2013

Every album this woman has put out has basically been saved by one or two tracks…

    DIL—>Crazy in love
    Bday–> Irreplaceable
    ISF—> Single ladies, HALO
4lop—> (I will get back to you on this one)

Her albums have been a hot ass mess!! Well DIL was her best one( not that good) and she has basically been selling mostly on s**, and p**** popping, and her live shows…Her catalog is a hot piece of s***! No one will be playing any of beyonce albums 15 years from now!

    • ENOUGH ONIKA (KMART QUEEN) June 20, 2013

      Selling s** you say?

      Rude Boy – s**
      Cockiness – s**
      Birthday Cake – s**
      What’s My Name – s**
      S&M – extreme s**

      Need more?

  93. Alessandro June 20, 2013

Forget sales and everything I love beyonce but for me her most consistent album was b’day I lived every track instantly but beyonce always gets it right member dat!!!!

  94. Music June 20, 2013

I am…Sasha fierce was a good era. But I loved B Day only cuz every song was catchy and had a video.

  95. DevonB21 June 20, 2013

I Feel As If 4 Is Beyonce’s Best Album Because Not Only Does She Show Growth And Maturity On This Album, But She Brings Real R&B Back And Showed Despite Only Have #1 Single That Her Album Can Sell. 4 Is Also A ALBUM Where You Don’t Have To Skip To Your Favorite Song You Can Listen To The Full Album And WNjoy Every Song.

  96. KingBeyBitch June 20, 2013

  97. KingBeyBitch June 20, 2013

@B****** are a mess Gurl you are a f****** mess talking b*******, Singles is all yall Navy members talk about Beyonce doesnt need to have a #1 single to make a great album 4 proves that I mean NO artist period needs a #1 to make a good album. Beyonce always make good albums and album does not just define certain songs I’m talking about the whole album gurl. And not at you a Rihanna fan saying her music will o be remembered umm hello her music of DIL still plays to the day same with Bday. I mean crazy in love, Irreplaceable etc still play on the radio. When last have you heard Umbrella? Or even WFL and that song is not even that old. Hell even Single ladies still plays s*** your ass down.

    • ENOUGH ONIKA (KMART QUEEN) June 20, 2013

And DEAD @BitchesAreAMess saying BEYONCE only sells s**??? LOL! What is Rihanna only good for??? Exactly lol

  100. Suicide Blonde June 20, 2013

4 is her best and is the only album of her that i can stand, me being honest.

    “Schoolin’ Life” alone>>>>>>>>>her entire discography.

    • TheArtOfLettingGo June 20, 2013

Most of us think the same.

      • Special Delivery June 20, 2013

        Not judging by the comments

  101. DIGGER BEY June 20, 2013

The Best Has Yet To Come but for now, its gotta b 4! I luv them all the same, like my little babies! She stepped up with 4. When everybody else was going to the right, she was going to other way. The record sticks out as a piece of art! But my fav is IASF! Everytime KING B releases an album. I’m always trying to figure out, which is my fav. But when she started making songs like IIWAB & HALO! The woman placed herself on a whole another level with me! She took risks with those songs. DISAPPEAR, SIU, AM, BHG, SATILITES are IT! I even luv TWYB and she SLAYED those songs with them vocals, on the IAT! I would luv for her to make more songs in the direction HALO and IIWAB! Her voice and the energy she gives off on stage is perfect for that genre of music. Anyway, I know the…..#BEST IS YET TO COME

  102. CLR June 20, 2013

I want the soul, fire, passion, and determination of dangerously in love, the funk, fun, and million songs released and unreleased of bday, the performance creativity and prowess of IAMSF, and the vocals and creative muse sonically and lyrically of 4 for album 5.

This time around I want to hear the non-singles of her albums for the next tour. It is asking a lot but wouldn’t be cool if there were multiple versions of a show and it switched and you never knew which one you were going to get? Bey has plenty of songs to do this. There are plenty of songs to choose from this will help with the mundane approach and will take off some years make it fresh.

  103. HOWYOULIKEIT June 20, 2013

In terms of campaign, looks, sales, IASF is the album.
But 4 is her most consistent to date in terms of quality.

  104. DIGGER BEY June 20, 2013

Um… @ B****** are a mess. Who is that Ugly ass tenhead h** un ur avi? Just wondering, cause the b**** looks like an pig’s ass. And b**** sit yo raggedy delusional ass down quick! But yet, u say they are a mess bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah. #B**** TAKE THOSE SEATS N HELL

  105. KELLY June 20, 2013

    Beyonce’s best album is B’Day!

    Flaws & All
    Upgrade U
    Green Light
    Get Me Bodied
    Ring the Alarm
    Freakum dress
    Beautiful Liar

Her most consistent album, sounds fresh and makes me dance and feel good 7 yrs later

  109. ratedxxx(my favs stays on)) June 20, 2013

it always amazes me how the beyonce stans are the worst hypocrite stan base ever….

first they claimed with the album 4 beyonce is about to snatch wigs…when that didnt happen they claimed beyonce wasnt trying to make a hit album this time around…

than when none of her singles when to number one on the billboard 100/or the itune charts, they claimed having a number 1 single on billboard 100 and itunes doesnt mean s***…

  110. ratedxxx(my favs stays on)) June 20, 2013

and at that time kelly had a number 1 hit on the r&b charts, they claimed the r&b charts is not relevant…

than when beyonce had a number 1 hit on the dance charts and the r&b charts, they were bragging about it….

now I seemed to remember alot of these stans bashing other artist when their albums doesnt sell as much or when they don’t have any hits on their albums…

but now when its beyonce who’s not selling as much as she used too..numbers don’t mean s***…..for years they were bashing rihanna saying she doesnt have a number 1 album…even though rihanna’s album managed to out sell beyonces, without all the 15 million re released

and people wonder why beyonce is hated so much….

    • RICHANDBLACK11 June 20, 2013

As I recall and most of the Beyhive, Beyonce stated way before the album came out that it wasn’t about charts nor sales for her…. Since when did Rihanna out sell Beyonce music catalogue? I need, I want, SHOW ALL THEM RECEIPTS BABE.

  111. PRINCE MACHIAVEL June 20, 2013

It’s Really Hard To Choose, Because Every Beyoncé’s Album Has Some Greats Songs, But I Do Enjoy More “I’M SF & 4” The Only Songs I Hated From “4” Are “1+1, Best Thing I Never Had And All The Remix Of RTW”!

Btw How The F*** She Didn’t Release “SOTS” Yet(She Can Keep GW)?!!?

I’m The Only One Who Love “Bow Dow” Lllol It’s Not That Serious I Love It The Same Way I Love “Cake Like Lady Gaga”!!!!

Have Fun Guys, Your Lovely TGJ’s French Commenter! xoxo

    • RICHANDBLACK11 June 20, 2013

I heard Bow down in the club, and lets just say the CLUB WAS TURNT UP

      • PRINCE MACHIAVEL June 20, 2013

IKR! People Here Hate It Just Because It’s Beyoncé, But “BOW DOWN” Is A Kick Ass Banging Song!!

      • RICHANDBLACK11 June 20, 2013

        Where are you from?

  112. Pour It Up June 20, 2013

Fave album is Bday. Its a great party album but also has nice ballads like flaws & all and resentment

  113. XXX June 20, 2013

I really like how everyone has different opinions and theres no definitive majority vote. Shows her albums are cohesive and stand out for different reasons.

    My fave is 4 😀

  114. Rosie June 20, 2013

Honestly my fave is Bday but I like how she made 4 in the middle of the EDM trend not really for hits, but because she grew a lot as an artist. I know she tried to make a lot of them hits but honestly it was refreshing to hear how she had all of her roots in that album. But still Bday is my favorite.

  115. DIGGER BEY June 20, 2013

This stupid b**** @Rated X. Gurl everytime u comment, I just laugh and shake my head. U are one Miserably Bitter Seething H** Lmaoooooooo. 4, KING B’s lowest selling album n the States, has outsold 5 of Hoeianna’s albums. So b**** seeeeeeeeeth on. And b**** where were u, THE HIVE didn’t say that. From the beginning, majority of THE HIVE was bitchin before the era started. So h** , keep ur delusional pathetic lies to ur self. Miserably ass c*nt. GET UR LIFE.

  116. DIGGER BEY June 20, 2013

And also @ Rated H**. R**** wished she was outselling KING B albums before 4. Delusional H**, next time take ur medicine before u comment.

  117. soulmusiclover June 20, 2013

i’ll have to say dangerously in love! but 4 definitely grew on me! it’s also a good album

  118. B****** ARE A MESS June 20, 2013

  120. BeyStan June 20, 2013

I Am… Sasha Fierce was her BEST album! Halo, If I were a Boy, Single Ladies, Ego, Radio, Video Phone, Diva… That album made her pop royalty! Releasing this album was one of her peaks in her career, alongside that Superbowl performance!

  121. VSOP June 20, 2013

My Fav Bey Album WAS Bday. It Made Me Feel S***. I Used To Listen To It When I Woke Up, While I Cleaned And While I Was Getting Dressed For The Club. It’s Just A Fun, Funky, Fierce Album. That was until 4 came along. Maybe It was because I was in a serious relationship in 2011, but I could relate to every single track especially “I Miss You” my BF Was in the army. So i will go with 4!!! Love, love LOOVVVEEEE ittt!

  122. Mil Jackson June 20, 2013

Honestly I have no Favorite.. But if I had to choose one????,,, Dang I honestly cant. Reasons why? because they are all so diffrent. If each Album were Humans running a race they would each be running on there own track in diffrent locations I feel. Shes definitely evolved into something unpredictable but still familiar. I think shes gonna paint the town with this next album. Im excited for her.

  123. Lewey June 20, 2013

  124. B****** ARE A MESS June 20, 2013

    Signed f*** you jelly h***!

  125. Yolo June 21, 2013

Ha ! You know your albums are good as a whole when everyone has differen opinions. Unlike a certain other. I cant at her fans trying to shade Beyonce who actually focuses on the concept for each album instead if just the Hot 100. Her best album for me was 4. It has some beautiful songs, was not predictable and showed her vocal growth.

  126. Belladonna1363 June 21, 2013

I love all her albums but (Dangerously in Love,Bday & I-Am) but 4 is the only one I can do with out. I mostly love the songs that never make it on her albums like LOST YOUR MIND & BACK IT UP & IF & YOU ARE MY ROC & SCHOOLING LIFE! But from what I’m hereing from the new album hopefully called (KING-B) the songs ………………BOW DOWN, STANDING ON THE SUN, GROWN WOMAN & the song RUN WAY off her HBO documentary are so good that I think the new album will be my favorite!!!!!!

  127. waterfalls29 June 21, 2013

beyonce wants combined quality and success, so she needs her jammy jam and terry lewis

    4 albums : 4 classic
control, rn 1814, janet., the velvet rope

4 start to take this way but it’s not enough.
lack of content on her album.
    my opinion.
sorry for my english i’m french.

  128. LUV Madonna June 21, 2013

A more interesting Q is who would have the better Greatest Hits out of Bey and RiRi. 18 tracks a piece, it’s a tough call:

    Crazy In Love
    Baby Boy
    Me Myself and I
    Naughty Girl
    Check On It
    De Ja Vu
    Ring The Alarm
    Beautiful Liar
    Single Ladies
    If I Were A Boy
    Sweet Dreams
    Run The World
    Love On Top
    Best Thing I Never Had

    Pon De Replay
    Don’t Stop The Music
    Take A Bow
    Russian Roulette
    Rude Boy
    Only Girl
    What’s My name
    S and M
    Man Down
    We Found Love
    Where Have You Been

  129. MyPenIzFresh June 21, 2013

Man this is a good question. I would have to ride with 4. I think DIL was a great album, and honestly most of the tracks are still relevant. 4 tho, is one of those albums where you felt what Beyonce felt in that moment. The songs were emotive and honest. It felt cohesive from beginning to end. I think it was some of the most raw singing Beyonce has done. I love all 4 albums, but ‘4’ was just an album where she expressed herself naturally without thoughts of how it would sell.

  130. MyPenIzFresh June 21, 2013

I love how the Rihanna fans & Beyonce fans are getting along on this post. Maybe we can end the feud finally and come together. They are two of the most prominent women in music, we should celebrate them together

  131. Gabriel June 21, 2013

I love every album from Beyoncé since d]the beginning of Destiny’s Child. Acctually I like Destiny’s Child even more than their solo carreers. Anyway…
DANGEROUSLY IN LOVE is the best album that Beyoncé recorded. It is classic, fresh, s***, funny and romantic at the same time… We saw Beyoncé become a woman when she released DIL. She made such a great job. I feel like there’s real music, you know… When comtemporary artists didn’t need to put pictures of their ass*s in instagram or share such a trouble life only to get attention. I love everything that comes from Beyoncé, and she’s changed, and always growing but she keeps it real. She doesn’t need to smoke weed and share this to the world like it’s something nice, she doesn’t need to have crazy relationships with men who spank her, she doesn’t need going out with weirf clothe… She gets attention only for being her. She still keeps alive that “diva” concept, with elegance and beauty. People said sh*t about 4, but 4 was one album that she recorded ’cause she wanted to record. It wasn’t to sell, it wasn’t for the market ’cause we know that if Beyoncé wants to do an album to sell like water she can! Beyoncé is one of the few artists who is still real.

  132. DANIEL T June 21, 2013

Beyoncé’s best album is 4 – end of story

  133. Yaz June 22, 2013

I love all of Beyonces albums for different reasons.
4- Nice leisurely listen anytime, anyplace.
B Day- Some great party bangers and when getting ready to go out (her most signature sound imo) contrasted with beautiful slow songs like Flaws and All, disappear.
Dangerously- Great when in a relationship. Very s*** listen. You can tell she was falling in love.
IASF- When I am in the mood for some pop.

  134. tenfinity June 22, 2013

I don’t how people just class the IASF album as pop?
With jazz influences in Single Ladies, Hello, Ego then the operatic tone in Ave Maria, to the rock edge in If I were a boy??

Without doubt, was DIL epic. 5 major hits. Crazy in Love, Me myself and I, baby boy, Dangerously in love etc.. That brought her onto the scene.

Bday was a nice follow up, with memorables like deja vu, upgrade you- but not as outstanding as the others.

4 was emotional and intimate..some songs like Rather die young I didn’t get, and took a while to grow on me.. End of time – classic. I miss you – on repeat for days (wish it was longer)
But personally IASF was iconic and that converted me from a liker to a fan! I mean it was so well crafted, produced major hits like If I were a boy, Halo, Sweet Dreams, Single ladies, Diva etc
It fully deserved all the grammys it won.
