Monica‘s ‘Code Red‘ LP campaign is just beginning.

Undeterred by its unfortunate opening week number the entertainer has decided to make exciting new moves with the release by creating fresh and original content designed to give her fans deeper insight into its material.

Today, she has announced she is to do so with a documentary set for release this year.

Her announcement came wrapped in a message which saw her share her thoughts on the ‘Red’s sales and how they may (or may not) impact her commercial legacy.

God knows I got nothing but love for home girl but this code red thing ain’t working for all parties involved, meaning Her, the fans and the record label. I think she should wrap this one up and prepare for ha next era.

That’s the same thing everyone said about your fav with her current album, but she ignored the naysayers, and continued with persistents. So by all means..hush.

You can’t seriously be comparing Monica’s sales to Nicki’s. Nobody told Nicki to give up on her album because it was actually selling and has had numerous certified singles and sold 200k opening week. Compare that to Monica’s situation and then tell me why you think it’s the same thing.

Monica its to late to save your album

    30 million?

    • MUSICHEAD January 4, 2016

Hey…if Aaliyah’s fans can pretend she sold 50 million records (even tho she only sold 15 million) then why can’t Monica’s?

      • Sandra January 4, 2016

I saw some Aaliyha fan on youtube who said Aaliyah’s albums all are diamond, and he was serious lol… They also say Aliyah sold 32 million albums while alive and over 50 million now. How is that possible when she sold less than 10 million in the US? She’s the textbook definition of local

      • MUSICHEAD January 4, 2016

Lmaoooo! Aaliyah was talented but never a big seller. And for the record, Monica has actually sold 18 million albums and singles.

Lmao the fact that monica is saying she sold 30 million records is a absolute joke within itself she barley sold 5 million in the u.s she is really to local one out of the t*** r&b girls hell i take that back mya was the most local one of all of them but monica isnt that far behind mya with being local

      • Mariah’s little lamb January 4, 2016

@sandra how can monica sell 30 million records when she barley sold 5 million in the u.s and barley have international certfiactions from other countries????

    • Kitty Puurrzz January 4, 2016

Monica has definitely sold over 30 million records. Her 1st 2 singles went #1 on her 1st album & then her 2nd album she had 3#1 singles IN A ROW on billboard. Do your research sweetie. Monica was once THAT GIRL. Her & Brandy.

      • Mariah’s little lamb January 4, 2016

How she sold 30 million when she dont even have that many certified albums internationally? Outside of the u.s and canada monica didnt sell she barley sold 5 million in the u.s

      • K January 7, 2016

Exactly! These youngsters don’t know real music!

      • K January 7, 2016

This album is FIRE! Her vocals alone! She should push it and watch she’ll be back on top! And for you saying she hadn’t sold 30 million look her up people she been having platinum albums! #1 singles and etc and she still making albums! I heard RCA didn’t send an equal amount as they did with Chris brown to the record stores but she’ll be back on top the album is fire

That’s what I’m talking about Mo! Push the album and promote the singles. Would love to see her release Alone In your heart and promote it.

  5. Kitty Puurrzz January 4, 2016

This album is too good for her to let it go to waste. I can see her working these singles and regaining commercial success. She has plenty of cuts on Code Red that could potentially put her back on top.

  6. Rebecca S for Queen Bey, Princess Rih, & R&B Legend Monica January 4, 2016

I love that, i’m looking forward, plus I absolutely love the album. I would definitely love for her to release “I know, Anchor or All men lie” as a second single”.

  7. Code Dead January 4, 2016

    Girl bye

  8. Sandra January 4, 2016

  9. The Weekend January 4, 2016

Yes Monica, i’m here for that. The album is amazing, so why not keep pushing. Giving up is for losers.

  10. MUSICHEAD January 4, 2016

Alone In Your Heart is a certified urban hit in the waiting…that should be the next single!

  11. Mr. RCW January 4, 2016

They stay hating on Monica! Album releases are not sprints, buta marathon. The album slayes. I’m here for it!

  12. cocobutta January 4, 2016

Really taking it the old school route. Work that album Mo.

Taking time with this allows for key family time as well as pressing on musically.

Deep seems to be a fan favourite but I wouldn’t have it as 2nd single.

    1: I know
    Alone In Your Heart

  13. FC/JC (FutureCiara) January 4, 2016

Im just not here for a second single …. Love Monica But She can keep it.

  14. #JACKIE January 4, 2016

Code Red is DRY! Try again sis.

  15. Colin James January 4, 2016

Monica is a very talented singer, a rarity, in this age of flash in the pan auto-tuned s**-sationalized female artists. Had this album been released in the day when R&B SINGERS like her, Aaliyah, and Brandy were actually even considered in the game, without all of the RED shtick, The fail in her music, this time out of the gate, was putting the shtick before her sound…that horrid red weave, and the PR backstory, stole her limelight. She put up a good fight, but I wonder, in retrospect, had it been better to allow the album to speak for itself? Hmmmm. Sade never has this problem…because her PR team knows that her loyal fans want to see her live, and cash in on one lead single and the tour. That’s what’s happening to our classic singing ladies. PERIOD.

  16. All Love January 4, 2016

Lol at the CiNigga fans in this post. Instead of worrying about Monica, worry about your ghetto ass fav and her baby daddy drama, how embarrassing and uncouth.

Anyway, come through Monica, i’m here for it.
