The lion’s share of the entertainer’s chart success has been charged by streams meaning, despite her game-changing success on the Billboard 200, she still remains on the lower-end of the scale as far as traditional sales are concerned.

Now it seems that is about to change.

Her jam ‘I Like It‘ has reached sales 800,000 copies in the United States alone since May 25th 2018 after it was certified platinum four times in the market because of the streams it accumulated within the first few months of its release.

On a global front, the track now sits at sales of 1 million units making it one of the fastest-selling hits of the year.

Though these numbers pale in comparison to pure sales figures secured by her ‘Motorsport’ collaborator Nicki Minaj, they do silence talk that the vivacious Cardi would falter without the support of Spotify, Apple Music and the like.

Her team are undoubtedly hoping her gains on a singles front will spill over into her albums as her debut offering ‘Invasion of Privacy’ has only sold 206,000 copies to date.

Stop trying to discredit Cardi and comparing her sales to Nicki. Cardi debuted at the time when streams overpower sales. Nicki isn’t doing great on sales or streams.

@Kandi – Shut up! The chick is TRASH! She came in when TRASH is COOL.

Stop using streaming as an excuse because your overhyped fave CAN’T SELL UNITS. 206k albums after all the hype this girl has been given is TRAGIC, point blank.

Cardi B is doing what other artist such as Nicki McFraud couldn’t do yet she was so worried about beating Aretha’s record…??‍♂️ ?”Bzzz”?

Scrambling real hard for the Payola Christmas bonus I see. Perhaps Belcalis should go full blown pop, rock a leopard beehive wig, hump a d**** on stage in an audience full of minors and sing Rebecca Black sweet nothings to get them pure sales up! Shout outs to Sophia Grace!!! 🙂

You mean after all the hype and hoopla this so-called “new” queen of rap still hasn’t even sold 250k albums yet? LMFAO.

Tragic. And don’t give me that “its the streaming era” crap, that’s just a tired, played out excuse for artists that can’t sell. PURE SALES will always take precedence over streaming.

Congratulations Bardi…pure or streams, it’s STILL a well deserved WIN. Continue to make this h*** teeth bleed. ✊?

Are u gonna post Queen’s pure sales too? Is it charting on iTunes? Did it spend 21 weeks in the top 10 on billboard? Stop trying to make that loser a winner. Nicki lost Cardi won. Next case.

      No lies detected!

Nicki pure sales not even that much for her new album. No one is buying albums like that anymore when you pay for a monthly subscription to stream it. I love bey and rig and both are my faves but I’m not buying their album. I will stream it over and over on Apple Music and just go see them in person. Not wasting extra money when it can be streamed.
