Ed Sheeran Manager: “We’re Very Conscious About Overkill, But No One Seems Sick Of It”

Ed Sheeran enjoys an omnipresence in Pop that shows no signs of letting up.

The British singer has taken residence in the upper echelon of charts across the globe with what seems like an endless array of hits.

And, historically, he’s been oh so vocal about his desire to achieve that.

Now, though, his team has gone on record to state that there is an internalised caution exercised in pursuing that path.

Full story below…

In a new interview with BBC, Sheeran’s longtime manager Stuart Camp was asked “can [one] ever be sick of Ed Sheeran?”

His response was interesting. He said:

“I never want anyone to be bored of him. But I guess if he’s top of the charts then they’re possibly not. You just want to make sure that’s a fair representation.

We’re very conscious of not doing overkill. Bizarrely, we’ve been doing it for 10 years where we really have overkilled, but no one seems to be sick of it.

We are very conscious of too much Ed Sheeran.”

That said, Camp confirmed that Sheeran is hard at work on new music – despite his current “side venture” ‘No. 6 Collaborations Project’ proving to be as much of a hit vendor as his traditional sets.

He said:

“He’s already started writing and recording for what will be album five. We won’t let anything come out that’s substandard.

We’ve done that on the previous two albums where we have to keep going until we absolutely know that the thing we come back with is undeniable, and that is a lot of work.”

Intriguing.

Shape of You is annoying at this point. He gets a pass because he is homely and imitates soul singers. People love blue-eyed soul.

Really what soul singers has he imitated? Please tell.

Why are people judging his looks ? Ya’ll are rotten.

Regarding the highest grossing tour, well that title isn’t fair because it’s been the same tour for like 2 years for 2 different albums.

The right way to look at it is the average gross per night.
Some people tours are shorter but if you compare over the same number of concerts performed, they grossed more money.

He’s successful, I’m not mad at him. He doesn’t try to format his looks, props to him. He plays the guitar, he writes (not only for himself)… He’s talented.
