Madonna is wasting no time capitalizing on the buzz of her newly announced album ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor: Part II.’
For, the legend has surprised released the LP’s lead single ‘I Feel So Free.’
A sonic reunion with Stuart Price (who helmed the original ‘Confessions’ project), the 5-minute track landed just minutes after Madge rocked the stage with Sabrina Carpenter during week 2 of Coachella 2026.
Boasting a booming bassline and pulsating production, ‘Free’ makes no apologies for its dancefloor agenda. Aptly.
That said, with the likes of ‘Hung Up’ and ‘Sorry’ as its thematic predecessors, the song and the rest of its housing album have a lot to live up to.
Does it deliver?
Take a listen after the jump and let us know!
‘Confessions II’ arrives on July 3 via Warner Music.

Pure garbage!
I concur… lame song and the rest is just whispering.
😆
5-minute track but I stop after 60 seconds.
This song is painful to hear.
Did you try any specific browser settings for better photo uploads? It’s always a bit hit or miss for me.
This is actually a good indication that her label is serious about her comeback. It sounds like classic Madonna. Sounds good.
Shoulda worked with Mirwais
I might be wrong, but I genuinely feel that the teaser and the full track were designed to trigger our emotional memory by echoing Madonna’s past masterpieces.
The short teaser with only the pad seemed intentionally crafted to evoke Ray of Light — that spacious, spiritual, ascending atmosphere.
Then, when the beat and structure came in, the track shifted toward Confessions on a Dance Floor, especially Future Lovers, whose instrumental architecture it strongly resembles.
Even the sung refrain “I feel so free” unintentionally reminded me of Impressive Instant from Music — not melodically, but in the way it uses a repetitive, mantra‑like line to induce a kind of trance.
But here’s the issue: this isn’t a greatest‑hits retrospective.
It’s supposed to introduce a new era.
So instead of feeling like a bold artistic statement, the track comes across as a nostalgic lure — a way to tap into our emotional weak spots by referencing her most iconic eras, without actually offering a new sonic vision of its own.
That’s why the whole thing feels a bit like a carrot:
a promise of something familiar, without the innovation, risk‑taking, or emotional depth that defined those original albums.
Now all we can do is hope that the rest of the album won’t follow the same path, because what we truly want is something original — not another variation of what she has already done.
By the way : it’s not the first single.
Sorry I don’t feel like in a trance at all….
I feel annoyed because it is horrible and the lyrics are just mehhh 🙂
To sum up: shadowy shapeshifter
finds freedom in geriatric orgîes?
I HATE Madge’s low singing voice
and visualizer is seizure inducing.
Welp. . .her innovation’s long lost.
New LP sounds like a trick to get
60-year-old gays to help Madonna
reclaim the Top Touring Act spot. 💤

WTF is that…. this is something AI could do.
Sit down grandma, your time is UP!
Her music is getting worse and worse by year. Stop chasing trends….it fell flat!
Next?
She is never back (after her album…Music.)
RIP
Good grief! It seems doesn’t have motivation, taste or creativity anymore in terms of writing lyrics and melody. This song screams…A FLOP comeback!
Her fans try so hard and feed her delusion but she hasn’t been good or relevant since Hard Candy.
Yuppp..
Her creativity runs dry! This is the main problem when you stay too long in the industry.
Oh she’s good and she’s so back. They be marketing her good. No troll like you can change that
This is the issue with today’s tik tok generation. Us adults learned to debate and exchange opinions without diminishing anyone to Internet fodder like “trolls”. An Internet troll is someone deliberately misleading for effect. All I’m doing is expressing an opinion about the quality of her music deteriorating. We can agree to disagree but it isn’t being a troll, “dear”
I actually love the song.
Who wrote the lyrics?
Her adopted kids?
Surely not. Had they written it we would have heard lyrics like, “Help meeee” and “You guys have no idea how racist this b*tech is.”
She should go back to doing ballads instead making this kind of bubble gum Gen-Zoo house/dance track just sayin..
Live To Tell is my favorite ballad by her
A- for the effort
F…. for the song!!
🙁 🙁
Horrible track.
Mama has gone….
Yas queen, queen of all queens. Cowdung Carter could never. Back to to true form with a ballroom house track. Sheeeeeeeeee’s baaaaaaaaaack
But admit that the lyrics are, to quote her, dimunitive. As if she had a word count limit of 10!
Not true….there are definitely strength in numbers…..quite frankly she doesn’t have to say much anymore because she’s been around for 40 years so she can say whatever the f*** she wants
