Music royal Mariah Carey has been named “queen” of many things:  whistles, Billboard Hot 100, shade, and, let some of us tell it…umm..the universe.

But, a recent interview with our buds at Buzzfeed shows Mimi has a few other things she thinks she rules  – namely ‘Taboo’ (the board game) and the kitchen (as we also saw here).

Going over ’40 Things You Should Know About Mariah,’ the 45-year-old diva dishes on her likes, many dislikes, new Christmas film, and so much more.  Get into some fun-filled – and somewhat shady – highlights below:

Via Buzzfeed:

1. What do you love most about your career?

Mariah Carey: I love being able to do what I love for a living most about my career. It would suck to be stuck doing something I hated.

2. What, so far, has been your favorite career moment?

MC: Wow, I’ve been blessed and had so many moments. It definitely has to do with the Lambilys. My fans have made all my career moments special for me.

3. Do you have a favorite moment in your new Vegas show?

MC: I love performing “Infinity” in Vegas because to see the people singing along to such a brand-new song — I just wrote and recorded it three months ago — it’s one of my favorite things.

4. Do you have a personal favorite off your #1 to Infinity album?

MC: Hmmm, a friend of mine told me last night that his favorite song was “My All,” and I have had lot of people tell me that’s their favorite song. And that song is based on a real moment; I wrote in the album credits for #1 to Infinity that was the first time I fell in love with love, and it’s true. I went to Puerto Rico and had MOMENTS; they weren’t severe moments, but they were moments for me, Miss Goody Two-Shoes, and out came “My All.” But, I am not going to claim it as my favorite ‘cause I love “Fantasy,” as well as the newer songs “We Belong Together” and “Touch My Body.”

5. Is there an artist that you’d like to collaborate with whom you haven’t worked with yet?

MC: I want to collaborate with me ‘cause I’ve done so many collaborations that after a certain point unless you’re really working with a certain caliber of an artist, there’s no point [to collaborate]. It just becomes, ‘Oh, let’s throw these two people together,’ and that’s what I feel is wrong with some of the collaborations that happen today and, dare I say, I helped paved the way for some of these little collaborations that happened today.

7. So this is a new chapter for you, what do you want to accomplish next?

MC: There are a lot things I have on the horizon that I’m going to be doing: acting, singing, even writing for movies. I think I’d even like to score a movie — I don’t know why that hasn’t happened yet, clearly someone isn’t on their game.

16. Which Plastic (from Mean Girls) would you want as your BFF?

Regina George — you have to be on her good side. Honestly, I would just want to be her; she’s the best.

20. Champagne or wine?

Right now I’m not trying to have either one of them. But if I had to, it’s all about the glass, so I would have to go with the champagne flute — it’s the best look.

22. What are you binge-watching right now?

Scandal, I have to admit. I was binge-watching How to Get Away With Murder and Veep. It’s freaking hilarious, I live for Veep.

23. NSYNC or One Direction?

Oh come on, oh come now. Do you really expect me to answer that question?

32. What is one thing that a true diva could not live without?

I guess a smart remark every now and then, a good sip of water.

40. What’s your favorite song to sing at Christmas?

I have to go with my own, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” I still love it. Even though it’s not my favorite vocal performance, or the best thing I’ve done in that way. It’s just for fun, it’s… moments, dahhling.

I’m the queen of festivities, that’s all I can say.

  2. Things Mariah wants you to know June 3, 2015

*That she can out drink all of her ex husbands*

  3. Music Lover~ June 3, 2015

Legend, I love her. Mariah’s shade is too much lol I can’t.

  4. Stephy June 3, 2015

Ugh, I just love this woman so much. I wanna save her so bad. Mariah, please don’t ever leave us! We love you so much. Her song “Whenever You Call” has been playing all day. “Close My Eyes” is a song that speaks directly to my heart. I wanna save her from any harm … But, I know Mariah has to walk her own path (as she been doing before I was even born). Michael Jackson & Mariah Carey are the only artist I’ve ever fell so deep in love with. It’s so unhealthy but their impact on my life is so undeniable. Her music is a blessing to me. Mariah, I thank you for sharing your talent with us. “Anytime You Need A Friend” is my all time fav from you. That song speaks about Jesus being there for you in your darkest moments. I love Mariah because she’s real. Her struggles & mental issues are REAL. She is a strong woman. But, has so many personal demons (as we all do). I just wanna save her so bad…

“dare I say, I helped paved the way for some of these little collaborations that happened today.”

    ————————————————
Yes MIMI you paved the way your are the queen of pop&B you made it popular to have the singer/rapper collab’s you were one of the main people who merged pop, hip hop and r&b together

    • king z June 3, 2015

sorry sis. i think the credit for merging hip hop & r&b would go to mjb.

peeps might credit MC because her hits were bigger, but there’s a reason why mjb is the queen of hip hop soul. she set that blueprint that mc borrowed…and jlo later borrowed from her!

      • BeyRihLiyah June 3, 2015

can you read? I said Mariah is the queen of pop&b and I also said mariah merged pop, r&b and hip hop together mary j merged r&b, hip hop and soul together learn how to read hoeeee!

      • king z June 4, 2015

        @Beyrihliyah

girl get your panties outta bunch. mariah was NOT a pop singer. the songs she sang were CLEAR R&B/hip-hop when she did collabos with rappers.

name ONE POP SONG (from the 90s) that mariah sang that a rapper featured on. I’ll wait.

Fantasy, SweetHeart, Heartbreaker, etc. were not pop songs just cuz they were on the pop charts

      • Danny Bey June 4, 2015

@king z all the songs you mentioned were all definitely pop songs with r&b and hip-hop flare, dummy.

      • Danny Bey June 4, 2015

i think a Mariah & Drake collab would SLAYYYYYYYYYYY.

Or even with Kendrick or J. Cole also.

  6. Mark111 June 4, 2015

As of rappers on Pop songs and remixing them with an urban twist, yes Mariah craved and paved that lane. I wonder why she never did anything with Tupac. She would had murdered Me Against The world. Strange that Pacific didn’t work with many female artist, well, well known females.

    • Stephy. June 4, 2015

YAAASSSSS! I always say this Mark! Why she ain’t NEVER work with 2Pac & Biggie. Probably, cause they DIED before she got creative control over her public image. But, still she manage to work with ODB during her TOMMY days… I love you for this comment Ugly.

  7. #TeamTinashe Stan June 4, 2015

Mariah is a Legend but I feel a collaboration with another female or male wouldn’t hurt. She just needs to relax a bit and find her voice again.
    Christina Aguilera
    Adele
    Mary J Blige
    Drake
    Q – Tip
    Missy Elliott (again)
are just a few names I can think of would sound good with Mariah. That’s if she finds her voice again.
“Always Be My Baby” is my fave of hers but she has so many classics!

    • Mark111 June 4, 2015

She had too many “popping at the moment and where are they know” rappers on her records. When it got to the point of working with then new Nicki and Gucci Mane, it was a try hard. And Ricky Ross, Meek and Wale.
      .
Maybe Jay Z, Snoop, Diddy and other mature rappers.

      • #TeamTinashe Stan June 4, 2015

I actually enjoyed that Nicki collab lol good song. But yes, Triumphant sucked.

  8. Mark111 June 4, 2015

Should we give Janet credit for making r&b what it is today and what it back me in the 90s? I can’t name a female that used that sound before Control. We may have to give her the Queen of R&B and Pop crown.

    • Shady81 June 4, 2015

I so agree with you and it was really Janet who’ve continued to make hip-hop/R&B popular not Mariah because Janet worked with the Late great Heavy D on the Remix of Alright then after Janet has worked with Mc Lyte (You Want This) Chuck D of Public Enemy (New Agenda) off the Janet Album she also worked with Q-Tip on (Got till it’s gone) Velvet Rope Album then she worked with Busta Rhymes on (What’s it gonna be) then An unknown Kanye West, Khia, and Nelly so after the great success of Rock and Pop fusion of Hip-Hop starting in 1981- 1982 with Debbie Harry of Blondie and Kurtis Blow when Rapture came forth then you had Aerosmiths remake of their song Walk this way with Run DMC and that came about in 1984 Janet continued the infusion of Hip-Hop but with R&B in 1989 with Alright by adding an unknown Rapper by the name of Heavy D. As much as I like Mariah she didn’t make Hip-Hop/R&B/Pop popular it started with the ones before her but the continued success of Hip-Hop/R&B started with Janet Jackson and expanded greatly when Mary J. Blige jumped on board coining Mary j. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul. So Mariah really needs to give credit where credits due if anyone paved the way for continuing Hip-Hop/R&B/Pop it was Janet and Mary J. Blige if anything Mariah was indeed inspired by the trend of these two women but like always Mariah seems to forget who did it before her and made things popular before her she should just simply say she was inspired.

      • Shady81 June 4, 2015

I made a slight mistake Blondie’s Rapture song came out in 1980 and featured Fab Five Freddy and Grandmaster Flash and yes this was the first infusion of Hip-Hop/Pop together.

      • TheElusiveLamb June 4, 2015

Girl save that. Mariah has said plenty of times who paved the way for her and one of those ppl was Janet. MJB did hip-hop & soul, Janet did hip-hop & R&B, and Mariah did hip-hop & pop. There is a huge difference between just adding a rapper on a record on the album and etc. You all kill me with trying to deny what MC has done.

      • Shady81 June 4, 2015

I’m not denying with what she’s done but to me there is no huge difference and there isn’t three categories of Hip-Hop when it comes to R&B it’s either R&B or Pop Soul is as close as R&B Mariah has done alot she just wasn’t the first oh and since we talking about soul The late Teena Marie also Used a Hip-Hop sound for the song square biz back in the early 80’s since you wanna talk about adding Rappers and Etc. All Teena did was use a simple Hip-Hop beat and she sanged and Rapped Square biz her damn self with no added help now ask yourself can Mariah do that…. No no she can’t let’s just keep it cute she was inspired by those before her which made her inspire many others.

  9. Stephy. June 4, 2015

Mariah paved the way for WHITE girls like Basic Perry & Ariana Grande to fused R&B/Pop/Hip-Hip… Not so much for Black artist. Mary J paved the way for R&B/Hip Hop jams.. But, MC paved the way for the lil innocent white girls to hook up with the gangsta rappers & fuse Pop with Hip-Hop/R&B. People don’t like to give her credit for that.. But, its TRUE.

Songs like “California Girls, Problem, Dark Horse” etc… Is what Mariah paved the way for… I wish she would’ve done a DREAMLOVER remix with Biggie. Since Biggie sampled a sound from Dreamlover (which was a sound sampled from a Big Zaddy Kane song)… She eventually mixed JUICY with DREAMLOVER for her Adventures of Mimi tour. That would’ve been hot back in 1993.

  10. @JanetCIARA_ June 4, 2015

LMAO!!! Kiiiiii! These comments are even more of a kii than the post itself ????????????.

  13. Danny Bey June 4, 2015

    • TheElusiveLamb June 4, 2015

I would love a Mariah & Drake collaboration, but Mimi has to do a top 20/40 again on her own before she collabs with someone like Drake who is at the top of his game and charts right now.

      • Lmfao_Hoe June 4, 2015

She should’ve put him on “Your Mine” single instead of Trey or hell Chris Brown :/

  14. JOHNVIDAL June 4, 2015

    AWESOME answers!

One more proof that all the awful things we read yesterday were lies.

  15. Lmfao_Hoe June 4, 2015

She should’ve put Drake on “Your Mine” single instead of Trey or hell Chris Brown :/ I also wished she collab someday with Kendrick Lamar,Toni, J.Cole, Drake, Sam Smith, Maxwell, Kem, and get with Walter Afanasieff just for one more song or album.

  16. JT June 4, 2015

Mariah needs to get with Kendrick and Sam Smith. We all know that when Mariah is in the studio,s eh can do work. Live is a hit or miss but when she’s on, she’s on.
