Eminem fans disappointed at the initial first week sales prediction of his latest album, ‘Revival’ (as revealed here), certainly won’t be happy with the latest dose of bad news for the project.
As we previously indicated, ‘Revival’ not only comes as Em’s first major label release to lack a major Hot 100 hit to precede it, but it is also on track to be his first since his 1999 to sell less than 300k after a full premiere tracking week.
Refreshed reports from industry analysts are suggesting they may have been a bit too generous with their initial projection. Originally believed to be shifting 280-300,000 SPS in the week after its December 15 debut, look inside to see just how many units the set’s expected to move by the end of its first full tracking week on December 22:

If the numbers above prove true, the Grammy-winner will lay claim to his 9th #1 album. ‘Revival’ follows 2013’s ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’ which sold more than 792,000 copies its first week.

i mean… as much as i truly respect Eminem’s lyricism, creativity, political/social commentary & creativity, this particular album is watered down with FAR TOO MANY features. i get that he was possibly pushed into comprising a “radio/streaming friendly” project, but the album simply has too many rap/sing collabos. its overkill. great political and social messages, but very poor execution of actual tracks. and leading with that god awful record ft. beyonce was a HUGE MISTAKE. glad his team are rushing the release of the ed sheeren single. best commercial track on the album and best option for pushing units through the holiday season and top of 2018 quarter.

The album is ok, I think there is too much Rick Rubin and Skylar Grey influence on his last two albums. the environment of hip hop and the world has changed too much for him to be reusing his old lines in his music. I have been an Eminem fan from the beginning and I feel like he has not grown enough or kept up with his skill. And yes, I have listened to the whole album which he finishes on a more mature note but he is 45 that should have happened years ago.
