(CNN) — CNN projects that Barack Obama will be the nation’s 44th president.
Obama will address the country from a rally in Chicago, Illinois, later Tuesday night.As news broke, supporters cried and cheered, “Yes, we can.”
Obama will become the first African-American to win the presidency.
The Illinois senator is projected to pick up a big win in Virginia, a state that hasn’t voted for a Democratic president since 1964.
Obama also is projected to beat Sen. John McCain in Ohio, a battleground state that was considered a must-win for the Republican candidate. {Source}
Woooooooooo! I’m beyond ecstatic right now. Yes, you’ve likely not seen much election coverage on That Grape Juice (it simply isn’t our lane), however Obama’s win no doubt means a lot to black people and moreso the world at large. Sky really is the limit!
“Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther King could walk..Martin walked so Obama could run.. Obama is running so our children CAN FLY!” – Jay Z, November 3rd 2008
Your thoughts?

Mr & Mrs. Gaines in Gurnee, IL
such an exciting time…feels so good to be apart of this.it was my first time voting,my vote was just one of many but i feel so happy to have been apart of such a history-making event!
GO OBAMA YEAHHHHH. WE DID IT
History has been made again tonight. A monumentous occasion that some did not live to see and those who did are still in shock and awe. I personally will continue to pray for Barack Obama and his family. Evil is still present and they dislike this more than we know….simply because he is a black man. Pray for the safety of him and his family.
Wish his grandmother had lived to see this day. But, she is resting in peace knowing what a wonderful grandson she has. God bless America and God bless the First Family.

SIMPLY AMAZING
Thank You GOD. THANK YOU…Now he needs us more than ever…more than ever…for us to pray for his safety and guidance….I know the pressure on him will be astronomical, but GOD does not put more on us than we can bare…I had to stop reading the “perezhilton” blog…some the racist comments are so hurtful, but who cares….who cares…i am soooooo full right now…I am just in awe…I feel like I really do have hope and positivity for the first time in my adult life….
Yay! Great Job Barack! 😀 So glad he won!!
I just hope people will get over the fact that he’s black/mixed. They shuold look at him as a president and what he’s going to bring to the country rather than simply his colour or background.
Bush ruined the country, let’s hope Obama can fix it and improve it! 😀
thank u so much god its time for a change
I’m so glad such a deserving person has earned this position and title, and has already became a historical leader, prior to his election term. Way to be an ispiration Barack Obama. YES WE CAN!

US President Barak Obama also needs to read the pulse of other peoples who wish him to be in the chair of world leader. He will work like a human being not like a Bush

I am so happy that Obama won. He is a president that works for all Americans and not just for big business. Our country will change for the better.
Congrats to Obama, but geez, will they get it right. He is the first Biracial president.
This election has meant SO MUCH to the world as a whole. I think inspirational is a word that cannot be used enough when talking about this outcome. Peace and prosperity is worth working towards and heres the first step!
Many greetings to Barack Obama. :)))
Bulgaria “voted” for him too…

As a black man in America, words cannot explain my feelings right now.
We have been through so much. This is a testament that America has come so far, and I’m proud of this fact.

uhm that’s not a jay z quote
Anon 12:16 —
Barack Obama is Black. He identifies as a Black man and everyone knows that historicaly in the U.S. one drop of Black blood identifies you outwardly as being black. Especially if you have an ethnic “tendency”.. He is bi-racial, but actually most Americans are Bi-racial, tri-racial, and any other kind of racial. None of us are pure anything.
^^to the person above me thanks cause i knew that wasn’t a jay’z quote smh

Regardless of how Barack identifies himself and regardless of the “one drop rule” that was created by the “white man”, Obama is a true representation of a Biracial man. Indeed, he embodies African American ancestry, but he also does the same for the Caucasian descent, EQUALLY. There’s no picking or choosing here, no matter what twisted notions were imposed upon us. I’m proud of Barack and I am aware that history has been made. I hope to see great changes made here in America, as well as across the entire world. Peace and Much Love.
OMMMMGGGG!!!!!!!! BARACK OBAMA IS MY PRESIDENT!!!! I CRIED SO MUCH LAST NIGHT! MY PRESIDENT IS A BLACK MAN!!!!!!

WE DID IT, its an AMAZING TIME 4 us rite now, LETS GET AMERICA the way she should b-
Lift every voice and sing, till earth and Heaven ring,
Ring with the harmonies of liberty;
Let our rejoicing rise, high as the listening skies,
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea.
Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us,
Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us;
Facing the rising sun of our new day begun,
Let us march on till victory is won.
Stony the road we trod, bitter the chastening rod,
Felt in the days when hope unborn had died;
Yet with a steady beat, have not our weary feet,
Come to the place for which our fathers sighed?
We have come over a way that with tears has been watered,
We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered;
Out from the gloomy past, till now we stand at last
Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast.
God of our weary years, God of our silent tears,
Thou Who hast brought us thus far on the way;
Thou Who hast by Thy might, led us into the light,
Keep us forever in the path, we pray.
Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee.
Lest our hearts, drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee.
Shadowed beneath Thy hand, may we forever stand,
True to our God, true to our native land.
Checkout out the article Pitchbuzz.com has this historic win!!!!!

Thank you JESUS!! This is a beautiful day and time. I knew all along who our next president would be and i was correct!! America is finally standing up for what’s right!! We are in for a beautiful change, and quite frankly a remarkable revolution!! finally a president for the “PEOPLE” as a whole, not divided, whole. I LOVE BARACK OBAMA!!
This is just great. He is a good man. 🙂
Phil from Bosnia & Herzegovina
Go McCain. Ignorant people voted for Obama just because of the race card. Don’t get me wrong, it is awesome that we have some diversity in our presidency, but if we also had intellegent people…hm. the outcome could have been very different.
^ We do have Intelligent people voting thats why we had this outcome. Go Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!
^^^^you are a hater and an idiot. there is always one bad apple in the crowd isn’t there.majority rules, and it won. we voted for him because we are tired of the struggle, and the division of the people of the united states. this shows you can accomplish anything no matter race, s**, or creed. just shut up and bask in the ambiance because barack obama is hear to stay. go cry to your mom about wanting mccain to win because she is the only one who cares
^^ lol @ the exit polls (and common sense) showing that Most of McCains supporters were older white people and people who didn’t finish high school…
some dummies and more than likely some bigots. WOW.
I’m from Ireland and was up till 6am last morning watching! i am so glad well done America finnaly ye have done something amazing!!
I wish I was there and could have voted but being alive to see this is a great expirience and I am so glad this could happen!
I wish I could say the same for gay rights but thatll be another struggle but I now see We can get there 🙂
YAYYYYYY im so proud Obama won 😀
He was the underdog a couple months back with people doubting he’d even beat Hilary..
NOW LOOK AT HIM 😀
Good Luck to him i say..

Can somebody tell me who wrote the quote:
“Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther King Jr. could walk, Martin Luther King Jr. walked so Obama could run, Obama ran so our children can fly..”
Cause I am not sure it was Jay Z
I give all thanks to god for letting Mr. Obama win. I was giving up on the united states but i have more faith in us now. we are really showing how we are the strongest nation.
