The once-respected mogul has seen his life and legacy thrown into an abyss of shame and disgrace after several women stepped out of the shadows to accuse him of raping them.
Now, after Oprah Winfrey and Apple backed away from the story, HBO is ready to give the general public insight into his alleged crimes with a documentary set for release this year.
Its official description reads…
On The Record presents the haunting story of music executive Drew Dixon (producer of hit records for Method Man and Mary J. Blige, Estelle, Kanye West and Whitney Houston) as she grapples with her decision to become one of the first women of color, in the wake of #MeToo, to come forward and publicly accuse hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons of sexual misconduct. The film chronicles not only Dixon’s story but that of several other accusers–Sil Lai Abrams, Sheri Hines, Jenny Lumet, Alexia Norton Jones–delving deeply into the ways women of colors’ voices are all too often silenced and ignored when reporting these crimes; as well as the various cultural forces that conspire to make them reluctant to do so.
Russell denies any wrongdoing.
His victims and those who say they can prove he is a rapist say otherwise.

I hope someone makes a documentary on Oprah. As one of the wealthiest women on earth she sure knew everything that was going on in Hollywood and even had her hands in it.
She’s doing those documentaries to distract the public from her involvement when it comes to séx trafficking ?♂️

This “let’s exploit black men on allegations” culture we have today needs to be stopped. Russell has not been charged of anything, MJ is dead and was acquitted. These men have family members, and daughters. Why is HBO and lifetime exploiting these men tribulations for white man gain?
RKelly case is still pending. Lifetime documentary should have happened after he is found guilty. When you put shows like this out based on allegations, these men stand little to no chance of a dear trial when the public’s view on them is tainted.
I’m not saying what these men are being accused of didn’t happen…but let’s not act like women don’t lie and fabricate their relationships/situation with men in power for financial gain. It’s been happening for years.
How about someone make a documentary of all the unemployed skanks walking around Los Angeles waiting for a powerful man to con and milk.
