This is actually not a bad match up.
They’re both around the same level except Ashanti is the clear winner in terms of pop crossover success. Her debut album was so colossally HUGE folks actually thought she was a threat to Queen Bey back then. Although she fell off soon after her sophomore release. I think she will rely heavily on her smash collaborations.
In my opinion, Keyshia has been more consistent overall through at least 4 albums LONG after Ashanti’s brief reign ended. Keyshia debuted in 04 but arguably peaked in 07/08. Plus she has hit collabs w/ Monica and Diddy. Everything from Just Like You still bops. I’d rather listen to a Keyshia playlist in 2020 over Ashanti anyday.

People have to Verzuz is what black people think was hot. So looking at hits on the Hot 100 is isn’t exactly where you want to base your opinion. You want to focus on R&B charts, as it is predominantly a measure of black entrance. Truth be told, there are a lot R&B songs that were hit on Hot 100, that didn’t do as well on R&B.
Both of them got people through heartbreak. This Versuz battle is one I will be watching.

Ashanti’s biggest hit is Jennifer Lopez’s recording career. Keyshia’s contribution to (low) culture was Frankie & Neffie. If I had to pick one, it would be Ashanti but this seems like a low budget Brandy v. Monica. Wake me when it’s done…
She wrote two songs out of the hundreds JLO has. It’s sad that’s all Ashanti is known for. Gotta try something better the JLO dragging is old.
