The famed singer stopped by ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’ to perform the holiday classic, ‘The Christmas Song.’
Dressed in a multi-colored suit, Aguilera let her vocals do the talking as she soared over the ballad in a way only she can.
The GRAMMY-winner previously included the song on her 2000 Christmas album, ‘My Kind of Christmas’ and has performed the song live several times over the years.

This is the definition of OVERSINGING. Just let the lyrics shine. Every line does not need to end in a run and riff. Good voice, sure, but this performance isn’t very good.

OMG “This Year” is like my favorite Xtina song. Her tone on it is amazing and that Rnb beat.. damn. Anyways.. I loved this perfroamance of “The Christmas Song”, I don’t even care for the original melody.. I always sing Christina version lmaooooo … she is not oversinging, it’s just how she changed up the melody.. she did a few different variations here too but I don’t mind.. Most of it is like on the CD. For all of you other haters who hear this version (different vocal melody full of riffs and vocalisations), get used to it. It’s obivous you never listened to her Xmas album. BEST XMAS ALBUM OF ALL TIMES in my book. Bravo Xtina!!! This reminds me that I need to buy me a few of original CDs of this album, I love the cover art…
High five. “This Year” shoulda been a single. It’s timeless festive R&B.
I love X-tina but this is an example of where she should have shown complete vocal restraint and let the song speak for itself. It’s a 1940s jazz song and should be soft and intimate and end like an 80s rock ballad or a battle cry. Her tone is amaze when she sings softly like in Say Something. Whitney, Mariah and Celine knew how to use restraint and not always oversing every song and X-Tina turns away the casual listener with constant vocal acrobats.

This was actually nice. She didn’t do TOO MUCH over singing in my opinion, although I think many other posters disagree. She LOOKS much better than in past performances.
