Chris Brown certainly has high hopes for his fourth studio album ‘F.A.M.E’. During a recent interview to promote the record, which arrives in stores next Tuesday, the singer told Hot 97’s Angie Martinez that he hopes the LP sells a million copies first week.
His comments below…
“I wouldn’t consider it jinxing myself, but I always dream big. I wouldn’t have thought when I was 15 I would be able to do this music. I would love to just solidify that, as much as ya’ll wanna keep talking about stuff, bringing stuff up, ya’ll can’t stop (me and) my music.”
“I would love to do like a mill the first week, honestly. And that’s really pushing, and I know that’s pushing, but I’m happy with anything I sell. If I sell 100,000 like last time, I’m cool. My last Graffiti album was only 100,000, but it was a lot more added to it back then,” he added referring to the media frenzy surrounding ‘the incident’ – which at that time had only happened a few months prior.
However, Brown acknowledges the present to be much more optimistic a time for him, saying “right now it’s a more comfortable position. People are accepting the music now.”

He said he would LOVE to do a mill first week. What artist doesn’t wanna do a mill first week? I remember when Exclusive came out he said he would love his album to have the #1 spot in an interview. I don’t remember what exactly he said but he said something along the lines “every artist wants to be #1. Who really says Oh I want my album to debut at the #2 spot. Everyone is aiming high” which is the truth. If your goal in life isn’t to dream big and to be #1 with everything you do and you don’t have that faith in yourself then you need to get yourself straight because it’s not cockiness or being arogant to want to sell that much. And if you assholes read the rest he said he would be fine sellinf 100k and he knows he is pushing it but it’s a goal and it’s a dream he wants. @ True Blue, I was following that Aaliyah album (because I was a hardcore fan while she was alive, unlike some of those that suddenly became one once she died). It wasn’t performing too well. When I speak to her stans or maybe even Bey haters they make claims that Bey has success only because Aaliyah wasn’t around. I think if Brandy and Monica had difficulties, than Aaliyah more than likely would have too! Like I said, she started out shaky. Now Aaliyah is so creative that I think she would have done better in another era down the line, but it was Bey’s time! To see it any other way is delusional.

If anything you have to work harder once you step out of a group (look at Nicole).

I JUST heard that interview he did with Angie Martinez. There was some ‘Ol fuckry-nonsense ’bout him hanging-up on some Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Radio DJ during an interview, when she asked him ’bout that bathroom picture. Now, mind you, during the PRE-INTERVIEW his people said that he WOULD NOT ADDRESS IT – to which she, the Miami DJ, agreed!
But SHE broke “their agreement” and DID ask/demanded commented on it…!! Chris ALSO said that the DJ had took the interview and edited it. I went BACK and listened to that interview, in its entirety, and it DID sound just like that. If you listen to all of it, at the very end you’ll hear the way his voice sounds different: two separate tones in the same sentence!
Long-story short – They just won’t let that boy breath! The haters are “sharpening their pencils and planting their booby-traps!”
What Chris needs to do is to RECORD ALL PRE/POST Interviews/agreements! And THEN whoever “violates”, he should post it on mechanical dummy and let ‘The Team-Breezy Family’…”handle it”…!!

I Dont think she has any problems singing her ballads live, shes does really well IMO i enjoy her singing Unfaithful, Rehab etc. live, I think its her electro pop/up tempo music she has a little trouble singing on key with …and thats just me.
And at First CKB was my LEAST favorite song…because i thought it was really cheesy and simple and doesnt do justice to the incredible rock, edgy ballads shes done…but its starting to grow on me.

I liked DC’s music but I can’t watch a live show because:
1. Michelle is ALWAYS offbeat somehow.
2. The Queen slays the vocals and sings for the most part, I could see that live solo!
3. Those background singers are too overpaid compared to the real ones.

Well I’m pretty sure he’ll still do around 1.5 million overall in the U.S. and I want to know, why is there such a huge emphasis on 1st week sales, because look at all the artists who have extremely high 1st week sales and then their sales go down by huge percentages in the following weeks and months: Taylor Swift, Susan Boyle, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Trey Songz. I’m still predicting 1st week sales of around 240K and WW sales of near 3.5 million. Either way F.A.M.E. will still a successful album, so now all I’m waiting for is my other fave Ciara to make a huge comeback.

I agree anything that does better than his last album can be considered a success.; however, using his last album as a measuring stick is not the best way to determine his success for a couple reasons:
1) Grafitti was an awful album (that’s a reality)
2) He was facing extreme public backlash
3) He didn’t have one radio hit around that time (so he did not have radio support)
His exclusive album did over 300,000 first week and i would say from what I have heard this album is better than Exclusive. I think the 300,000 plus fans (TEAM BREEZY) that bought Exclusive need to show up and buy FAME.
Whats funny is he won’t do the number of his second album and then who are yall gonna blame??? Yall can talk about all the stans in the world but it was yall (TEAM BREEZY) that didn’t support Grafitti and it will be yall (TEAM BREEZY) that will be responsible for him doing the whatever numbers that he does (Which will not be a million).
As fars as the demand in the street, you can get 6 cds for 10 dollars I do not know if that is a demand when CB is one of them, but admit that people would be more willing to spend 2 or 3 dollars for a bootleg than 10 dollars for store copy especially when you get it two weeks in advacne. CB is an excellent performer so him doing shows was never an issue. I can only speak of where I live and he has never sold out here, so I doubt he will now.
The song was cute, I tried it but it did nothing for me, lol…it wasn’t catchy, didn’t rhyme, it didn’t even flow well…lets leave the music and lyrics to Chris from now on, ok. Like I said before his sales are are direct reflection on yall, and i give yall props cause I thought he was done after Grafitti but you guys said otherwise.
I would like to say you suprised me though. Anytime I have ever made a comment about any artist most of the time their supporters, stans, whatever you call them do not agree with me I am personally attacked instead of my comments. Of course 'F.A.M.E' sales will be based on HIS fans; what/who else can it be based on? (certainly NOT the haters; can't picture 'em pulling out their plastic, and walking out with 'F.A.M.E'.)
What you didn't take into consideration is HIS demographic, and the economic climate 'Graffiti' was released in. 'Graffiti' not only had 'Feb 8th, 2009 Chrianna' to "contend with," but also the U.S. (THEN) entering into the worst economic recession yet-seen in generations!

Long-story short? …When folks are referred to hdd, they'll see that 'Graffiti' did 106k, it's first week, and then'll compare it to what 'F.A.M.E' did. (hdd is now quoting pundits who predict 200k for its first week.)

I think that FAME will do really well! He has been doing an amazing job with promotion and it is getting really god reviews. He has THREE #1 singles (R&B) from this album as well as 3 Top 20 singles on Hot 100! Graffiti only did poorly because of the “incident”, the music on the album was incredible and I suggest you take a listen. I have heard snippets from FAME and trust, it is worth buying. Anyone can listen to it and feel his heart and soul. I think FAME could sell around 450k or more! I know FAME has been released in other countries and it is doing really well so hopefully America can open their eyes and listen to REAL music and not this generic pop b*******. Either way, I am extremely proud of Chris and I’m getting my 2 copies! #TEAMBREEZY!
Ain’t no way in hell this album is selling a million copies in a week, but I hope that it will at least peak at #1 on the Billboard 200 (that’s a much more reasonable goal.)

Rihanna herself said she doesnt care about first week sales as they do not determine the longevity of the album for example good girl gone bad didn’t reach 200 000 in its first week however it sold BBBBIIIIIIIGGGG worldwide.
The Billboard is an important chart don’t get me wrong I think if you do get a number one album there its good but the Billboard doesn’t determine the success of an album.

Sorry I’m not buying it (but you didn’t really expect me to did you?). I am not gonna bootleg it either though. I will not be attending any of his concerts (but I usually do not go to anyones so do not take it personal).
The songs I have heard on youtube are firrreee so he will do well but not a million. As a matter of fact predictions from hitsdailydouble state he will do between 250-275 first week and he will land the number 1 spot.
