Janet Jackson marked her birthday weekend with an auction of some of her most prized possessions.
The legendary Rock N’ Roll Hall of Famer teamed up with Juliens Auctions to raise money for children’s charity Compassion.
Items available include several of Jackson’s original iconic music video costumes.
Naturally, the buzz has been immense and has seen outfits such as the star’s ‘Scream’ ensemble fetch a gargantuan $125,000.
With such auctions, it’s commonplace for museum collectors to be at the forefront of bids. Jackson’s event, however, was open to all. And it’s seen a very notable face nab one of her most enduring looks.

It’s been said by organizers that Jackson is keen to let fans share in her legacy as she struts forward towards a new chapter.

Personally, I would’ve liked to see more music video props in the auction, like the bat Janet had in the Son of a Gun video. It appears that she saved mostly wardobe and costume items only.
