Chart Check: Justin Bieber Becomes Youngest Act to Bag 100 Hot 100 Hits

Published: Saturday 24th Jul 2021 by Rashad

Justin Bieber‘s career is no stranger to “firsts.”

At just 27-years-young, the Pop pinup boasts being the first male vocalist to sell over 100 million digital records, first male artist to debut his first six studio albums atop the Billboard 200, first male vocalist to nab four Hot 100 #1 debuts, and more.

Now, thanks to The Kid LAROI‘s latest single – ‘Stay’ – Bieber’s made another beeline into Billboard history books.

After thrilling fans with its Colin Tilley-directed music video, ‘Stay’ by LAROI and Bieber’s made an impressive #3 debut on this week’s Hot 100.  Look below to see the numbers that powered the premiere.

  • Streaming: 34.7 million U.S. streams
  • Radio Airplay: 12.9 million audience impressions
  • Digital Downloads: 12,000 sold

The figures were just enough to give Biebs his 24th career top 10 (LAROI’s third).  Among male acts, Bieber now ranks #7 only behind Drake (45), Michael Jackson (30), Stevie Wonder (28), Elton John (27), Lil Wayne (25), and Elvis Presley (25) on the all-time list of ‘most top 10s.’

More importantly, ‘Stay’ comes as Justin’s 100th Hot 100 entry – making him the youngest artist in history and first non-American male vocalist to achieve such.

As the congratulations roll in for the GRAMMY winner, look below to see who joins him in the top 25 on this week’s TGJ Chart Check.

Wow Amazing!! Congrats to Dua Lipa 29 weeks in the Top 10!! She’s headed for 30 weeks. The longevity!! Levitating is such a smash. Future Nostalgia now at 1,650,000 in sales and is the 6th Best selling album of 2021 over a years release. The longevity the stamina lmao!!

If it wasn’t released as an official single, it shouldn’t count. This is nonsense and unfair to put newer acts on the same chart as acts that didn’t have digital delivery platforms. Elvis earned all those charting SINGLES that were available as actual physical singles, not some rando feature on a streaming track that charted for one or two weeks when an album dropped. Glee had over 200 hit singles? No, it had a bunch of tracks that charted the week the show aired and then fell off the chart completely the following week. They are NOT HITS. They are a bi-product of the streaming / digital system and do not represent actual hits songs that even a casual listener would be aware of.

Only Top 5 (or 10) hits should be worth of note in a post-Napster career esp. since Michael, Elton, and Elvis have made the list sans streams. This wheezing on a beat wife beater, or the other Joker lip corners Canadian papi, shouldn’t be flattered by these “feats”

Lol Meg has only been on the charts for 5 weeks and continually dropping. Lmao she’s so overrated.
