Ahead of the October 1 release of her forthcoming 12-track EP, ‘Trying Not to Think About It,’ award-winning songstress JoJo is giving fans a taste of what they can expect via the set’s first single, ‘Worst (I Assume).’
Accompanied by a dramatic music video directed by Alfredo Flores, the new tune sees Jo croon about the negative impact keeping one’s guard up can have on the progress of a romantic relationship.
“I keep assumin’, you’re gonna do sh*t / That might break my heart so I keep up my guard / And I know it’s confusin’, how I put you through it / My past and my scars, still makе it hard / I assume, ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh / Always the worst, I assume,” she sings.

Fans will get to hear the 30-year-old belt ‘Worst’ as well as her other greatest hits on a recently launched string of spot dates that will touch down in Philadelphia, New York City, Nashville, Atlanta, and more.

oh, this is pretty decent
Jo Jo must own this website.
Certain songs need no video.
This is one example.
Best as audio.
I expected a storyline and a s*** chic image like on the album cover. Instead, Jo in strapless circus tent overalls and an epileptic dancer.
I need uptempo JoJo BACK! 😟
This is a bop! I love it 🔥
She needs some uptempo. I like her, but these last songs were just meh..
I’m sorry to say this isn’t what I hoped for. I think maybe the offbeat video has something to do with my attitude toward the song. And I really thought after Masked Singer JoJo was going to bring more pop back into the mix like “Creature of Habit”, but she’s done a 180 already with her second single.
