Per the publication, the NYPD received a 911 call at 7:00am requesting their presence at Kryst’s Manhattan building.
Upon their arrival, she was pronounced dead on the scene. The specifics of the tragedy are being pieced together, however, it’s believed that Kryst may have jumped from the 29th floor (where she was last seen). It’s of note that she lived on the 9th floor.
Kyrst – who was just 30 – is said to have left a note relaying that she was leaving all she owned to her Mom.
A statement from her family read:
“Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined.
Most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague — we know her impact will live on.”
Just hours before her passing, Kryst – who competed as Miss North Carolina – shared the following post on Instagram:
“May this day bring you rest and peace ❤️”

Our thoughts are with her loved ones.
Absolutely tragic. I pray that everyone start living their real lives outside of social media where we have a constant comparison and brutal bullying in this false reality. It is so very sad. I’m not certain that that was the cause but I do know that’s been a struggle for me and I hope that everyone starts to find which truly makes them happy inside.
So sad!!!!!! I hope she has the peace she wished for everyone else. Mental health is real.
If you think about it, she was talking to herself, the woman in the photo. The photo was posted less than 30 minutes before she jumped off the building. Truly sad and heart wrenching.
Daring, Rest In Peace.
So sad.
Why jumped off the building? That’s a horrible way to die💅🏾
This is so sad.
What a beautiful woman.
Incredibly sad. RIP beautiful.
I knew someone who suffered from deep depression & from the outside looking in, the individual constantly battled with negative self talk aimed at themselves. It seemed as if their objective was too destroy themselves.
Although this woman was attractive & appeared successful, she could’ve been someone who targeted themselves w/ hate, It doesn’t always need to be someone else from what I’ve witnessed.
It’s important for people whom are deeply depressed to avoid all things negative OR toxic as much as possible….Ppl, entertainment, environment, unhealthy meals, illicit substances. Began modeling oneself after Women/Men whom have overcame very difficult circumstances because these sorta people are sent here for a purpose.
R.I.P Cheslie
RIP. I feel like somebody pushed this b****. She was in the legal system as well.
Sad.
