Comeback queen Whitney Houston continues her promotional tour of Europe, just a few minutes ago performing new single ‘Million Dollar Bill’ on popular French show Le Grand Journal. Peep the performance above.
While not Whitney’s best live vocal outing (by a long shot), I really enjoyed this performance; the band were jamming, the back-up singers were on fire and Whitney held her own (at certain times moreso than others). Baby steps, I guess.
That said, word has it Ms. Houston was spotted lighting up a cigarette during her French visit. While it’s no secret that she has been smoking cigarettes in the past, when you’re dubbed ‘The Voice’, it makes little to no sense to be compromising her main instrument. Aside from that, she’s been churning out rather consistent performances since her comeback (Good Morning America aside), so the future looks bright – she was having a great time up on the stage.
Tidbit: Be sure to watch the interview after the performance, there’s a great acapella of ‘I Look To You’. Off-topic, she’s so diva…(“I’ve gone beyond the queen of R&B”) LOL. Got to love the self-confidence.

She sounded ok but its obvious her microphone wasn’t working her backing singers were too loud at times and you could barely hear her a times…
so divaaaaaaa actually the journalist ask her about her title of PRINCESS of r’nb and set the record straight when she used the title of QUEEN !!! favolous!!!!

Seriously Sam, you drag Mariah through the mud and NOT Whitney for that mess??? She wasn’t even attempting to sing the hook as was obvious because the background singers carried it….the parts she was singing she sounded exhausted and rough! This was NOT a good performance by any means………her performance of “I Look To You” in Germany was much better. This, by comparison, was utter trash.

Whitney did GREAT! You could hear her voice was in form tonight, it’s just that her mic was not working properly.
She had a great voice, you could tell by the I look to you improv. ACAPELLA! She had to show them she had the voice so that the Media wasn’t going to EAT her alive, that’s prob why she did that little bit of I look to you!

HER MIC WAS GOING ON AND OFF AND SHE WAS STRAINING TO HEAR HERSELF. THE MIC SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS LOSING POWER WITH THIS WEIRD ECHOING REVERB THING GOIN ON.. PEOPLE WHO WERE THERE SAID THE SAME THING. GERMANY WAS BETTER BUT GERMANY DIDNT HAVE SOUND AND TECH ISSUES EITHER. SMFH.

Im so tired of Mariah stans up in here.. I’d be mad too tho, I look to you outsold Memories by nearly 200k. But anywho I’m glad to see Whitney overseas promoting this album, I hope to see her back here doing some more performances.. I loved how she sang a little in the interview.. I just love Whitney,and the audience clearly does too, they barley stopped cheering for her.
I don’t cut Mooriah any slack for sounding like s*** or lip syncing and I wont do it for Whitney either this performance was not good at ALL
I hate to say it, because I want to see Whit win, but she looks as if she is still on the drugs. She needs to work with a vocal coach and salvage the voice.

Let’s face it, Whit’s voice is not what it used to be and neither is Mariah’s, but at least Whitney has a reason (allbeit a bad one). And Whitney still gives a complete performance which gets the audience going. Mariah can’t even lead a horse to water let alone make him drink it. That’s why Whitney wins in the end, she’s a great performer (even without dancing).
i just think that her voice was strained either the night before or she was sick or something just wasnt right…cuz shes already proved she still has THE VOICE..she was probly just going thru some motion of some sort…it happens to the best of em..shes human
