It’s been nearly three years since August Alsina rocked headlines for admitting he had an affair with Jada Pinkett-Smith, but the award-winning R&B singer continues to be haunted by the aftermath of the shocking event.
Despite taking to press in late 2022 to reveal he’s “moving past the entanglement” and does not keep in touch with Jada or her Academy Award-winning husband Will Smith, Alsina still finds himself tied to the two – a position highlighted by Chris Rock‘s recently unveiled Netflix comedy special, ‘Selective Outrage.’
More inside.
During Rock’s long-awaited address of his infamous 2022 OSCARs slap the comic-actor brought up Jada’s infidelity with August.
“Everybody knows that had nothing to do with me. I didn’t have any entanglements,” he said. “His wife was f**king her son’s friend. Now, I normally would not talk about this sh*t, but for some reason, these ni**as put that sh*t on the internet. I have no idea why two people that talented would do something that low down.”
Days after the March 4 premiere of ‘Selective,’ a source took to press to claim Alsina thoroughly enjoyed Chris’ commentary about the matter.
“August watched the Netflix special and he laughed,” the unidentified person reportedly told New York Post about the 30-year-old singer. “He thought it was not only funny but truthful. That was the best part for him.”
Quickly shooting down the report, however, the ‘No Love’ hitmaker reaffirmed to his fans there was no love for Rock’s Netflix special.
“This is a lie,” a rep from Alsina’s camp said on his behalf in a statement to ‘Entertainment Tonight.’ “Mr. Alsina has not seen Chris Rock’s special at all, as he’s been busy on tour.”
The news came shortly before August stunned fans with news his new album drops Friday (March 10).
