According to the Official Charts Company, Lipa’s freshly launched ‘Training Season’ and Queen Bey’s Country anthem ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ are in a tight race for #1.
Per the current tally, British-bred Lipa is ahead by 3000 copies.
It’s of note, though, that the present update primarily factors in the delivered pre-orders of ‘Training Season’ – which had been made available for pre-sale for several weeks.
As of writing, Beyonce’s ‘Act II’ single is besting Lipa’s effort on Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes.
Should Mrs. Carter nab the #1, it will serve as her first UK chart-topper in 14-years – with her last time atop of the tally being with Lady Gaga collaboration ‘Telephone.’ She currently has 5 UK solo #1s to her name.
If Lipa were to triumph, ‘Training Season’ would become her 5th UK #1.
