Billboard 200: Tyler, the Creator’s ‘Chromakopia’ Set to Break Lil Uzi Vert’s Nearly Decade-Long #1s Streak As ‘Eternal Atake 2’ on Pace for Modest Debut

Published: Wednesday 6th Nov 2024 by Rashad

November 1 brought with it the long-awaited arrival of ‘Eternal Atake 2‘ – the conceptual follow-up to Lil Uzi Vert‘s 2020-released sophomore album ‘Eternal Atake.’

Dropped after ample teasing, the project – which stormed digital shelves alongside the music video for its lead single ‘Chill Bae‘ – was delivered instead of the previously teased ‘Luv is Rage 3.’

Greeted with mixed reviews from professional critics and fans alike, ‘Atake 2’ was originally believed to be the biggest threat to the second-week chart championship of Tyler, the Creator‘s blockbuster new album ‘Chromakopia.’

However, industry analyst prediction is now suggesting that’s no longer the case for Vert (born Symere Woods).

Lil Uzi Vert’s ‘Eternal Atake 2’

Predicted First-Week Sales (SPS):  55-60,000 units

Predicted First-Week Sales (Pure): 2,500 units

Predicted Billboard 200 Debut:  #3-#5

According to HDD, Woods’ fourth studio effort is set to open at #3 to 60,000 units sold by the end of its inaugural sales tracking week.

For context, that’s 79% less than its conceptual predecessor ‘Eternal Atake’ which opened at #1 with 288,000 in 2020.

If the prediction rings true it will mark the lowest first-week figures to accompany any of their studio projects to the Billboard 200.

What’s more, it will be the first studio album of Woods’ to miss the Billboard 200’s top spot.

Tyler’s latest, ‘Chromakopia,’ is expected to occupy the all-genre chart’s top position again next week after topping the tally with his personal best yet.

Keep it locked to That Grape Juice when the final numbers are revealed on Sunday (November 10).
