The multihyphenate star has been celebrating his birthday and return to the spotlight with his hit Netflix standup comedy special, ‘Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…’
Yet, the festivities turned to fighting during a visit to Mr. Chow in LA.
According to TMZ, Foxx and his family were dining at the restaurant in a private area when members of another party began to verbally taunt him. After advising the rowdy collective that he was with his family, a glass was thrown at him and chaos erupted.
Per the report, Foxx impacted and received stitches.
The account was echoed by reps for the star, who issued the following statement:
“Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth. He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands.”
The incident comes after the Oscar winner waxed candid about the 2023 brain bleed and stroke that saw his life hang in the balance.
