Shrugs. Same problem I usually have with Beyonce, the few things she does which I think are really beautiful and show growth end up being her just replicating someone else’s stunning work. I believe 4 was the album where she wanted to show she had grown up and wanted to do her own thing but in some ways it’s just ended up feeling like her most immature work. There’s definitely some insecurity there because when she wants to go out on a limb she usually needs someone else’s representation to do so rather than merely being brave and doing her own thing and being able to claim it.
Shrugs…I hope she comes into her own and really becomes a woman and finds a real taste for art and a way to express it through her own vision. Maybe by the time she’s 40…could definitely be interesting to see.
