Perez Hilton‘s family has broken its silence after the blogger was hospitalized following a troubling incident at his Miami home.

In a joint update, his relatives and team confirmed he is receiving medical care and asked the public to respect the privacy of Hilton and his loved ones.

Perez Hilton’s Family Shares an Update

The statement, posted to Hilton’s website today (August 5), thanked supporters for the outpouring of concern, love, and prayers.

It read:

“We can confirm that Perez is receiving medical care, and our family’s focus right now is on his well-being.

We kindly ask that you respect Perez’s privacy, as well as the privacy of his family, during this difficult time.

If and when we are able to share any updates, we will do so with everyone as soon as we can.

Thank you for your compassion, understanding, and continued support.

The update follows the shocking events of Tuesday, August 4.

Per PEOPLE, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies responded after viewers reported a TikTok livestream in which the 48-year-old Pop culture polarizer appeared to harm himself.

Authorities said Hilton was alone inside the property. Officers initially stepped back while continuing to monitor the situation, explaining that crisis interventions can benefit from “time, distance, and opportunities for communication.”

Hilton was later safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital.

The Sheriff’s Office Crisis Response Unit and licensed mental health professionals also provided support to his family.

Before the family update, managers Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan had said they were unable to reach him directly despite repeated attempts.

Their latest message makes clear that the focus is now on Hilton’s care and recovery.
