While the latter might not be a subject you or anyone you know may have taken at school, South Florida’s ‘Better Education Place‘ organization have caused some controversy by awarding Pop belle Nicki Minaj their ‘Teacher Of The Year Award‘, in recognition of the influence they say she has on the state’s students.

Judged alongside actual teachers, Minaj and her mentor/fellow lyricist Lil Wayne received the honorary degrees for the following:
1.Ability to capture and maintain attention.
2. Ability to transform behavior ‘or make them do as you do‘.
3. Ability to move their audience or create interaction.
4.Ability to inspire, effective use of language, use of memory devices.
The organization’s CEO Melvin El explained:
They’re teaching them better — in many cases — than teachers in the classrooms. Of course they were waning on the content — they weren’t teaching the things that would make kids successful in life, but again, the point that my team was making is that they’re teaching kids in an abundant way.

While we completely understand the idea behind giving both she Wayne this award, this is undoubtedly a slap to the faces of any real educators out there with an organic passion to inspire the students they genuinely want the best for.
However, the fact that remains that some things – like drive and ambition- just can’t be taught in the classroom and are two inspiring qualities that have set both performers apart from most of their contemporaries time and time again.
After all, if what they were doing was easy- you’d be doing it too.

So if this organisation comes across a hooker who is successfully teaching a lot of youngsters how to turn tricks on the street and make good money at it “in abundance”, will said hooker be awarded this prize?
