The daytime TV maven has been presenting episodes of ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ live from her New York home – as the world comes to grips with the coronavirus.
However, that has now been put on pause.
Reps for the star confirmed to Variety that she will be taking a health-related hiatus, due to fatigue caused by Graves’ disease.
“Recently, Wendy has been dealing with symptoms from her Graves’ disease which is causing fatigue. In consultation with her doctor and as a precautionary measure, she will be taking some time off as she continues to receive treatment. We look forward to welcoming Wendy back soon and continuing the ‘Wendy@Home’ shows. More updates on a return date will follow.”
The news adds to a rollercoaster period for Williams, whose show was guest-hosted for several weeks last season after she entered rehab. Upon her return, she divorced her longtime husband – whose much reported infidelity was said to be the catalyst for the rehab stint.
Dissolving doubts about the future of the globally popular show, ‘Wendy’ was thereafter renewed for two new seasons – carrying through to 2022.
