The 93rd Academy Awards may have left tongues wagging due to its moving musical performances, shocking snubs, and celebrated wins Sunday (April 25), but updated Nielsen reports reveal the ceremony itself was far from a winner (on the ratings front).

Courting a considerable drop in viewership from last year’s numbers – which were named the show’s lowest in its televised history – the nearly four-hour hostless affair pulled in even lower figures with its 2021 showing.

Check out the hilarious trailer for ‘Welcome Matt,’ the Tahj Mowry-led comedy coming courtesy of Gravitas Ventures.

The directorial debut of celebrated filmmaker Leon Pierce Jr., the movie tells the fictional story of a well-known writer and director (‘Matt’ portrayed by Mowry) who suffered an experience so traumatic it leads him to a bout with agoraphobia.  Determined not to let that stop his dreams, he – with the help of his friends – attempts to direct, write, and star in a feature film all from the comfort of his home.

We know what you’re thinking, but surprisingly the flick has no references to the current global health crisis.
