With a resume full of career milestones (see: Stellar & Dove Award wins, Grammy nominations, having the longest running #1 single in history), you'd think there would be few “firsts” left for gospel superstar Marvin Sapp.

But, as his first holiday-themed album 'Christmas Card' (in stores now) reveals, even the most seasoned of stars still have room for new achievements.

That Grape Juice recently caught up with the “Never Would've Made It” singer to chat specifically about the new album (which features the likes of former group Commissioned, R&B singer Joe, and more), his new reality show, thoughts on the controversial 'Preachers of LA', and so much more.  As always, you don't want to miss this:

17 years after bidding the world adieu, Peter S.Fischer’s ‘Murder, She Wrote‘ has been dealt a fresh hand by NBC today, gearing up to return to TV screens in a way we’ve never seen it before.

For, after enlisting ‘Desperate Housewives’ producer Alexandra Cunningham to write the new series, the network has revealed that ‘The Help’ actress Octavia Spencer will take on the lead role, starring a hospital administrator /crime novelist whose passion for real crime sees her become an active participant in crime investigations!

Set for takeoff in 2014, Deadline reports that its original star- London born actress Angela Lansbury– has been offered a role in the series, which will see Spencer’s character serve as a cross between Lansbury’s ‘Jessica Fletcher’ and Peter Falk’s ‘Columbo‘.

On the new series, Spencer shares:

“I’ve always considered myself an armchair detective and in a recent meeting with Bob Greenblatt, he asked me what type of character would be able to lure me to TV. Naturally, I said ” J.B. Fletcher” meets “Colombo”… And here we are. I’m ecstatic to have the opportunity to work with Dave Janollari again, and Alex Cunningham a brilliant writer who shares my love for all things mysterious and Angela Lansbury.”

24 years after playing Emily Franklin in Ross Brown‘s ‘Living Dolls’, Halle Berry eyes a return to television this year- signing on to star in the forthcoming CBS series ‘Extant’.

Telling the story of an astronaut (portrayed by Berry) who tries to reconnect with her family after a year long solo mission in space, CBS have already ordered an entire season of 13 episodes for the show- executive produced by ‘The Color Purple‘s Steven Spielberg.

Set to debut in the summer of 2014,  the series will follow Halle’s character as she struggles to readjust to life as she knew it, soon learning that experiences that took place both at home and space have the power to change the course of human history.

Exciting, as its release will precede the May 23rd unveiling of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’, which will see her reprise as Ororo ‘Storm’ Munroe, whom she first portrayed back 13 years ago in the first instalment of the Twentieth Century Fox project.

She’s the Rap belle with a star that continues to rise by way of the inspirational jam that was ‘Work‘.

Unfortunately, in falling prey to a trap oft set for many of today’s newbies, the last year has seen Iggy Azalea become more renown for her relationship than fashion with music- upping her celebrity stock but doing all of nothing to secure a fan base strong enough to ensure her debut album doesn’t slip, slide and shatter upon release.

Not helped by the fact that her interviews oft see her come across as cocky, her struggle to establish herself a commercially potent act got that much harder this week- upon the release of her spread in the October edition of ‘Paper Magazine’.

A spread, that should have sold the performer as an endearing and ambitious newcomer, focusing on her brand new single ‘Change Your Life‘.

A single, that was mentioned only once in a piece we’d say is all too telling of Iggy’s predicament.

Let’s be honest, supporting Contemporary R&B hasn’t been easy in the last few years.

Left to fend for itself in a world without substantial radio backing, thinly spread budgets and widespread talk of it being ‘dead’, the genre has been dealt more than its fair share of commercial blows recently, much to the dismay of those who hold it most dear.

However, it seems there is light at the end of the tunnel today. A light, made a whole lot brighter by the force that is….Ciara.

Britney Spears has done it again!

That’s right, before the release of her hotly anticipated eighth studio album, today has welcomed the arrival of its lead single ‘Work B*tch‘.

Is it any good? Well, after spinning it six or seven times, we’re calling this one a grower, even though we hope the rest of her LP sees her take on deeper subject matter, and a more ‘honest’ vocal.
