Now that the tracking week has concluded for their Korean-English debut LP, ‘Ice Cream’s parent project ‘The Album,’ the quartet – comprised of Jennie, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo – are in mention with another girl group favorite of yesteryear.

At writing, BLACKPINK sits at #1 on the Worldwide iTunes chart with their new LP ‘The Album’ – a feat accomplished by monster first-day sales in top markets around the world, including the U.K. and the U.S.

As fans are still loving previously released singles ‘Ice Cream (featuring Selena Gomez),’ ‘How You Like That,’ and the recently unveiled ‘Lovesick Girls,’ they’re becoming acquainted with new content on the studio effort – including the Cardi B-assisted ‘Bet You Wanna.’

To say BLACKPINK‘s first Korean-language studio effort, ‘The Album,’ is one of the year’s most highly anticipated releases would be a severe understatement.

At writing, the set’s reportedly passed the “1 million sold” mark for global pre-orders, with roughly 30% of those purchases coming from Europe and North America combined.  Be mindful that figure does not include streaming numbers which, once added, will skyrocket the quartet’s first-week sales prediction.

In America, excitement for the LP’s arrival has been built on the backs of two Hot 100 top 40 smashes – ‘How You Like That’ and its history-making, Selena Gomez-assisted follow-up, ‘Ice Cream.’

With the recently unveiled video for ‘Lovesick Girls’ (click here to watch) promising to send consumption into overdrive, group members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa have unleashed the songs’ parent album in full.

If the refreshed singles chart is any indication, BLACKPINK fans’ appetite for ‘Ice Cream’ is fading.

As we reported here, the Selena Gomez-assisted tune made Hot 100 history last week with its debut – marking not only the first time any female K-Pop group had cracked the top 20 but also the highest rung reached by the group to date.

Embarking on a heavy promotional blitz in the days following its August 28 arrival, the quartet – comprised of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa – hit a number of Web and print outlets in its support (including ‘Elle’ and more).

At writing, those efforts have not paid off as ‘Ice Cream’ slipped out of the top 40 in its second week.
