“F*** You” singer Cee Lo Green had fans of Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and Megan Thee Stallion saying just that to him after he branded the ladies’ respective expressions of sexuality as ‘desperate’ (as we reported here).

Now, after drawing harsh criticism from the rappers’ fans and supporters for his “misguided” his weigh in, the Gnarls Barkley leader is reeling back the comments.

Taking to social media Wednesday (August 12), Green stated:

“There seems to be a misunderstanding with a quote taken from an interview I did a few days ago while promoting my new project,” he started. “Firstly, I’m an advocate of artistic freedom and expression as well as a fan of Nicki, Cardi & Meagan [sic]. I know most of them personally and consider Cardi & Offset family. Therefore, I would never disrespect them by any means.”

That’s not all he said. Look inside for the full statement:

Thanks to her brazen brand of ‘shock comedy,’ quotes from comedienne-actress Sandra Bernhard were no stranger to controversy at the height of her career in the late 80’s and early 90’s.

Decades later, that same material is landing the 65-year-old in hot water as clips from a 1998 stand-up gig saw the award-winning comic refer to Pop icon Mariah Carey as the ‘N-word.’

Despite not reaching the top 10 status it was initially predicted to, ASAP Ferg and Nicki Minaj‘s latest duet – ‘Move Ya Hips’ – still made impressive moves on the Hot 100 (as we reported here).

Debuting at #19 on the tally, the Frankie P-produced cut marks the third collaboration between the hit rappers (following ‘Plain Jane’ and ‘Runnin’) and is their highest rung reached on the chart to date.

In a bid to make it their first top 10 hit, the duo (alongside MadeinTYO) have released its cinematic accompanying music video which tells the tale of a fantasy-gone-wrong after a man orders a lady robot online that has the most unfortunate…umm…malfunction.
