Instead, it was acclaimed actress Michelle Williams who – despite being a television and film veteran of 20+ years – was on hand to receive her very first Emmy. Her plea for better wages for actresses may have garnered applause from most, but there were certainly a sect who disagreed and took to Twitter in droves to share their disapproval.

After weeks of ample teasing, September 13 saw ‘Don’t Call Me Angel’ – the lead single from the Ariana Grande-curated soundtrack of the 2019 ‘Charlie’s Angels’ reboot – take flight on digital and streaming platforms. Aided by a high octane, Hannah Lux Davis-directed music video, the song soared to the top of iTunes sales charts just hours after its premiere (a success that was mirrored on Spotify charts as well).
By the end of its inaugural tracking week, Billboard reported:
“The song starts at No. 2 on the Digital Song Sales chart, with 26,000 downloads sold, and No. 11 on Streaming Songs, with 26.3 million U.S. streams, in the week ending Sept. 19, according to Nielsen Music. It also drew 7.5 million airplay audience impressions in the week ending Sept. 22…”
