With over a decade of success under her belt, Lady Gaga has seen the music industry shape-lift like never before – with streaming being one of its most pronounced chapters of evolution.
And while access to music has consequently become easier than ever, the format has arguably is now just as politicized as radio before it.
Indeed, the inclusion or exclusion of a song on key playlists can make or break a campaign, while a lack of streaming potency can swallow careers whole.
During her latest ‘Enigma’ show in Las Vegas, Mother Monster took a moment to share her take on the situation and call for broader change.

J. Holiday is not happy.
The crooner was part of a line-up of acts set to thrill millennial R&B fans on the #TB Tour: The Reunion. Joining him on the bill were Ray J, Day26, B5, and Immature.
However, when Ray dropped out (citing family commitments and other projects), it appears the trek begun to fall apart at the seams – with several dates canceled.
Frustrated, J took to social media and had choice words for Ray and B5.

Malaysia Pargo rose to fame when she became one of the ladies enlisted to lead the ‘Basketball Wives’ spinoff ‘Basketball Wives LA’ for VH1 in 2011.
During her time on the show, the entrepreneurial Wife‘ became a revered and respected Reality TV staple after her series eclipsed its Shaunie O’Neal and Evelyn Lozada-fronted predecessor with help from Draya Michele and Jackie Christie.
Unfortunately, when O’Neal’s version of the show was cancelled because of ratings fears, a number of its Wives emigrated to Malaysia’s territory and colonised ‘LA’ by forcing Brandi Maxielle, a bold and beloved fan favourite, out of the series to make way for themselves.
The final result? A crossover series led by members of the ‘Miami’ franchise and the ‘LA’ wives who fell in line with O’Neal’s vision for the platform.
This week Pargo has responded to the criticism she is facing for the part she played in the show’s bullying and colorism horror.

Remy Ma has revealed that it was more hurt feelings, and not anger, that lie at the heart of her feud with Nicki Minaj.
Minaj emerged on the scene shortly after Ma was imprisoned and the ladies used interviews to declare their love and admiration for each other during the latter’s time away.
In the months following her release the ladies exchanged more kind words and even planned to collaborate on music for Minaj’s album ‘The Pinkprint.’
Alas, their flourishing friendship morphed into a garden of churlishness when Ma was led to believe that Minaj was working with media outlets to derail her comeback train.
Though untrue, it was enough to ruin their sisterhood and give Remy good reason to believe Minaj had break a promise they made to each other during a telephone conversation.

Welcome to Retro Rewind, the TGJ original feature carved out to celebrate TV and Film’s colourful past.
Today, we’re honouring Baz Lurhmann‘s visual feast ‘Romeo + Juliet‘, a movie based on Shakespeare and Arthur Brooke‘s ‘Romeo & Juliet’ starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Claire Danes, Quindon Tarver, Harold Perrineau and Christina Pickles.
In it, Lurhmann offered audiences a stylised version of the story powered by a universe which, in many ways, has helped to shape Pop culture in the years following its release.
My record concept and all my videos have referenced Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet, neon crosses and church motifs included, since April 2017 ??♀️ and I did so with permission from Baz himself ??♀️??♀️??♀️

I actually like both versions of Kissing You. Desree and beyonce both delivered such raw vocals to it in their own way.
