The good news cloud just keeps raining on fans of R&B songstress/reality television maven Tamar Braxton.

After ending 2018 with news she was readying a new reality TV venture without her highly successful run alongside the Braxton sisters on WeTV’s ‘Braxton Family Values,’ the singer-songwriter kicked 2019 into high gear by making history as the first African American winner of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ (click here to read more) and also announcing – despite her prior reports of ‘retiring’ from the music industry – that she was readying new music.

While her followers, affectionately called #Tamartians, have kept their ears and eyes peeled for news regarding her Steve Harvey-sanctioned talk show, she’s gone on record to confirm the show is not happening.  Never fear, however, as the 42-year-old’s not bouncing back with one, but two new projects coming to screens near you…and soon.

After captivating headlines with an epic ode at ‘Wango Tango’ to her LGBT fans to commemorate the kick off of Pride month (click here to watch), Taylor Swift continues to pen love letters to the community with the latest coming courtesy of her new song, ‘You Need To Calm Down.’

A warning shot to ‘haters’ if you will, Swift dedicated the entire second verse to homophobes.

“You just need to take several seats and then try to restore the peace/And control your urges to scream about all the people you hate/‘Cause shade never made anybody less gay,” she sings over the Joel Little-produced beat.

Premiering just hours after unveiling the title and cover art of her 7th studio album, ‘Lover’ (as we reported here), ‘Calm’ comes as the set’s second single and follow-up to the Brendon Urie-assisted ‘Me.’

Could we be bearing witness to the comeback of Katy Perry?

After her ill-received fifth studio album, 2017’s ‘Witness,’ the 34-year-old took to press just 8 months ago to announce she was taking an extended break from music to focus on other ventures (see: shoe line, ‘American Idol,’ family, etc.).  That break was short-lived as by the end of May she was unveiling news of her single, ‘Never Really Over’ – an announcement met with surprising fanfare.

Just a day after the May 31 premiere of its accompanying, Philippa Price-directed music video the tune had already zoomed to the top 10 of iTunes and Spotify respectively.  Dominating radio with a historic opening week (as we reported here), a full week of streaming (15.8 million) added to the the handsome mix of sales (31,000) and radio airplay has proven itself lucrative for the Zedd-produced cut as it made its Hot 100 debut at #15.

Gifting the songstress the 19th top 20 hit of her career, ‘Over’ is her best charting effort since 2017’s ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ peaked at #4 on the Hot 100.  As we extend our congrats to Katy, look inside to see who joined her in the top 25 on this week’s TGJ Chart Check:

Brit-born beauty Charli XCX hit fans with a triple whammy in the last 24 hours when she not only revealed the cover artwork and tracklist for her self-titled third LP (in stores September 13), but has also unveiled the official music video for her Lizzo-assisted single, ‘Blame It On Your Love.’

The bradley&pablo-directed clip, which celebrates Pride month as a dedication to love in many different forms, comes not even a month after ‘Blame’ made its way onto digital outlets.  Having missed the Hot 100 to date, will an eccentric music video help it ascend to Billboard glory?

Ay yi yi!  It’s finally here.

‘Madame X’ – the 14th studio album of Queen of Pop Madonna – has made its debut on streaming services in the United States.  Coming as the follow-up to 2015’s ill-fated ‘Rebel Heart,’ ‘X’ storms to chart battle on the heels of five of its housed tracks acting as singles – ‘Medellin’ (featuring Maluma), ‘I Rise,’ ‘Future’ (featuring Quavo), ‘Crave’ featuring Swae Lee, and ‘Dark Ballet.’

If relying on the buying public’s critical and commercial response to the tunes (which has been virtually nonexistent to date as none of them hit the Hot 100), it’s sufficient to say the buzz preceding the set’s release has been one of the lowest of any Madonna project to date.

Will the rest of the album’s content act as its saving grace? Listen inside and tell us:
