It’s finally here!

After ample teasing, Donald Glover‘s long-awaited film, ‘Guava Island’ (also starring Rihanna), has made its premiere.

Released as a limited-time free stream on Amazon following Glover’s (musical stage name:  Childish Gambino) set at this weekend’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the 55-minute film – directed by Hiro Murai (responsible for the star’s ‘This Is America’ video) – drew inspiration from the 2002 crime flick,‘City of God,’ and also cites late Pop icon Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ as an influence.

Letitia Wright, Kofi Novia, and Nonso Anozie are among other notable names filling out the cast.  See more inside:

Naturi Naughton, who has found success an actress, is the focus of a TV One special and has once again opened up about her dramatic departure from the group.

The ‘Power’ star retold the story of how Kiely Williams effectively pied her in the face with a plate of hot chicken and mashed potatoes from KFC.

However, in twist of events, Williams (who retired from the spotlight) has clapped back.

In the time since his untimely death, Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle has seen his image immortalized in a number of artistic pieces that have compared him to a host of slain community and civil rights activists before him including the likes of Dr. Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and more.

However, those who found the previous equations surprising dropped jaws when ‘Confessions’ producer Jermaine Dupri took to Twitter to confess he believed Hussle was Jesus.  Needless to say, the comparison with our Lord and Savior didn’t sit well with many of his followers.

With attendance north of 120,000 the 2019 Coachella festival is looking to be one of its biggest yet.

Most notably topping headlines for this year’s headliners – Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande – the annual Indio, California festival kicked off today (April 12th) and its star-studded lineup (beyond its top-billed) is causing fan frenzy.

And, while its diverse performance roster will give all attendees a little bit of something to love, R&B and Hip Hop-heads will be most pleased by performances scheduled to be delivered by the likes of Janelle Monae, Anderson.Paak, H.E.R, and many more.

Nearly a year after first announcing she and longtime collaborator Ja Rule were hard at work on a long-awaited joint album, Ashanti‘s doubling down on the comment (as revealed in a recent interview with PEOPLE).

While traipsing the promo trail in support of her latest film, ‘Stuck’ (in theaters April 19), the Grammy-winner – nearly four years removed from her last studio effort ‘Braveheart’ – was quizzed on any forthcoming musical ventures.  Already revealing that she was eyeing a summer 2019 release date for new solo music (click here to read more on that), she took the opportunity to discuss her “brother” Ja and reaffirm news the ‘Always on Time’ duo will be dropping a duet LP.
