Are we the only ones who love when awards’ season is in full swing?

With the American Music and Soul Train Awards in our rearview, the People’s Choice Awards, Golden Globes, Academy Awards, and Grammy’s ahead are now joined by the NAACP Image Awards.

Unveiling its full list of nods today, the prestigious award honors actors, actresses, singers, authors, and activists of color, in and out of the entertainment industry, via its 46th annual presentation this year live on TV One.  With television shows ‘Scandal’ (ABC), ‘black-ish’ (ABC), and ‘Orange is the New Black’ (Netflix) leading the overall nods with 6 apiece and Beyonce and Pharrell dominating the music categories with 5 and 4 respectively, this year’s showing looks to be its most exciting yet.

Wendy Williams rarely minces her words when musing on Mariah Carey.

However, the singer found an ally in the former shock jock yesterday.

For, during her infamous “Hot Topics” segment, the talk show maven took up for Mimi following the backlash that surfaced after her woeful performance at the Rockefeller Center last week.

Speaking on the panned spectacle, the 50-year-old deemed it “not that bad” and added that Mariah “sounds better than Rihanna on her worst day”. Meow.

With the Platinum Edition of Beyonce‘s visual album now in stores, the remoulded set has re-ignited buzz surrounding the game-changing project.

Twitter is set alight as we speak after reports surfaced moments ago that police officer Darren Wilson was exonerated by a grand jury and will not face charges related to killing Michael Brown – an unarmed African American teenager in Ferguson, Missouri.

In the past 24 hours alone, the hashtag #ferguson has been used over 1 million times. And, by this time tomorrow, that number is set to skyrocket.

Welcome back to TGJ Replay!

Designed much like our ‘Retro Rewind’ and ‘From the Vault’ features, ‘Replay’ is That Grape Juice‘s newest reflective segment and acts like a written quest, if you will, to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday.
