Tory Lanez may have seen the last two years of his career dominate headlines more for personal and legal drama than his professional endeavors, but that hasn’t stopped the Canadian rapper from trying to get the ears of the masses on his music.

Hot on the promo trail in support of the September 30 release of his new album, ‘Sorry 4 What,’ Lanez drove over to ‘The Breakfast Club’ Thursday morning (September 29) to dish with the radio show’s resident hosts about the project and other recent happenings.

But when the conversation tipped over to more controversial topics, Lanez steered it back to his music – ultimately refusing to talk about his headline-grabbing (alleged) altercation with singer August Alsina that left the “entangled” star bruised and bloody.

Similarly, when quizzed about his ongoing legal spat with Megan Thee Stallion over reports he shot her in the foot, Tory pressed back to redirect the focus of the discussion on his forthcoming LP.

An awkward watch for sure, look inside to see highlights from the nearly hourlong chat.

‘Fighter’ hitmaker Christina Aguilera is among the top competitors for this year’s Latin GRAMMY Awards.

The Latin Recording Academy announced the nominations roster Tuesday (September 20), and the Pop diva – listed for work found aboard her second Spanish LP ‘Aguilera’ – earned 7 nods and tied music sensation Drexler as the night’s fourth most-nominated act.  Only Bad Bunny (10), Edgar Barrera (9), Rosalia (8), and Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro (8) nabbed more nods at the awards’ 23rd annual ceremony.

And while Aguilera will have to wait until the show’s November 17 air date to find out if she’ll be adding any more Latin GRAMMYs to her collection (having previously won for 2000’s ‘Mi Reflejo’ album), honors for her 2022 don’t stop there.

Usher may quite fairly lay claim to the King of R&B title, but what is equally hard to deny is that the superstar’s impressive longevity is partially a result of his embrace of other genres.

Notably EDM and Dance-Pop.

Indeed, who can forget global smashes such as ‘DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love Again’ and ‘OMG’ – both of which helped the stage blazer dominate all over again in the early 2010s.

However, for all this renewed success, Ush’s embrace of the dancier sounds ignited deep debate among his loyal R&B fanbase. For, while some took to the fresh approach, others detested it and suggested the singer had “turned his back” on his core genre. A debate that occasionally rears its head ’til this day.

With humor and charm, though, Mr. Raymond playfully acknowledged this on stage at his My Way Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live.

The music industry continues to reel after the shocking shooting death of rapper PnB Rock who was killed in a Los Angeles restaurant Monday (September 12) as the result of a robbery attempt.

Born Rakim Allen, the emcee was at Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles dining with his girlfriend when the incident occurred, leaving the 30-year-old dead from shooting injuries.

While local law authorities have yet to announce any details about their ongoing investigation of the matter, some of Allen’s fans and supporters are pointing the finger toward his girlfriend for posting — and tagging Roscoe’s — on her Instagram story (thereby allegedly alerting a would-be attacker of their location).

Although she’s since removed the post, it hasn’t stopped many – including celebrity friends of Rock’s like Kodak Black – from blaming her.

While Diddy‘s inciting debate about if R&B is dead, some of its power players scoff at the notion – most recently including the likes of Jacquees, Chris Brown, and Usher (all of whom have been appointed the genre’s king by their respective fans).

The latter, who stands as one of the best-selling artists in history with over 100 million total records sold worldwide and nine Billboard Hot 100 hits (second only to Stevie Wonder among male R&B acts), hasn’t been shy about his dedication to the format over the years.

Said dedication acts as sturdy support for why the 43-year-old believes he should be named R&B’s reigning monarch.

From Bow Wow‘s allegedly bomb a** p***y to reported romps with Raven Symone, Nick Cannon, and other celebrities, Orlando Brown is no stranger to making headlines for outlandish accusations in his interviews over the years.

While some suggest the former Disney star is trolling, others believe he may be exhibiting signs of mental health issues and/or dealings with substance abuse.

Regardless, that hasn’t stopped Brown from dominating Twitter conversations for his bizarre antics – the latest of which sees him embroiled in beef with rapper Soulja Boy.

Having previously raised eyebrows with his diss track toward the ‘Crank That’ star, Orlando saw his name trending over the weekend for suggesting Soulja was secretly late Pop icon Whitney Houston.

Beyonce‘s ‘Renaissance’ song ‘Church Girl’ may proclaim ‘no one can judge me but me,’ but Bishop Patrick Wooden, Sr., President and CEO of the Upper Room COGIC, begs to differ.

Not long after Dr. Dorinda Clark-Cole – one-fourth of the legendary Clark Sisters (whose 1981 song ‘Center of Thy Will’ is sampled in ‘Girl’) – took to the pulpit to tell religious critics to ‘leave Beyonce alone’ over the tune’s content, Wooden is making headlines for calling for public rebuke and denunciation of its creators and contributors.
