As reported, ‘The Lion King’ made an almighty roar at its world premiere last night in Los Angeles.

Stars and critics alike have been raving after being the first to see the Jon Favreau blockbuster – which is led by Donald Glover (in the role of Simba).

The undeniable belle of the ball was Beyonce, who was supported by Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams (pictured with her above), husband Jay-Z, and many more. 

Bey, who plays Nala, announced just before showtime that she’ll be releasing a companion compilation named ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ on July 19th. The first taste of the multi-artist project arrived today in the form of the singer’s soaring anthem ‘Spirit.’

Raymond Santana, one fifth of The Exonerated Five (formerly The Central Park Five) recently celebrated the release of Ava DuVernay‘s ‘When They See Us‘ which unveiled the truth about the horrific case which upset the world.

Santana was one of five African-American children who was falsely accused of raping and trying to murder a woman as she made her way through Central Park one evening but was exonerated when the real attacker stepped forward to “claim ownership” of the crime.

Now, he is sharing more of the sad story with Kandi Burruss and her ‘Speak on It’ platform.

Beyonce has an established flair for surprises and she sprung an almighty one on the masses tonight with the announcement of a ‘Lion King’ companion album.

Christened ‘The Lion King: The Gift,’ the multi-artist LP will feature all new music from Queen Bey who curated and executive produced the project.

But that’s not all. Because ahead of its July 19th arrival, the star has premiered new song ‘Spirit.’

Written and produced by Bey alongside IIya and Labrinth, the soaring number not only appears on ‘The Gift’ but also on the official soundtrack for the movie. It’s touted as playing at a pivoting point for Nala in the film.

‘The Lion King’ world premiere is underway live from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

Anticipated in earnest since its announcement two years ago, Disney‘s live-action re-imagining of the 1994 classic is receiving its very first play on the big screen as we write. All ahead of its theatrical release on July 19th.

With its stars Beyonce, Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, and more shining on the red carpet, it’s already been an enchanting evening.
