NPR’s wildly successful ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ segment has already hosted the likes of Taylor Swift, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu, BTS, Lizzo, and many other big names over its short tenure (click here to see we reported here).  As Jhene Aiko‘s recent inclusion on the platform evidences, they don’t plan on slowing down any time soon.

Due to the global health crisis, the latest series of showings have been from the comfort of the performers’ homes.  Aiko, dubbing her set the ‘quarantine edition,’ launched into a career-spanning performance that included songs from her tertiary album, ‘Chilombo’ (2020), to 2011’s ‘Sailing Souls’ mixtape and more.

BTS gave fans a very special performance of three of their songs when they appeared on NPR’s ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ series.

While the group did not perform at the NPR offices in Washington, D.C., they made do with a sleek studio space that fir them and their backing quartet of musicians.

The K-Pop group began their concert with their chart-topper ‘Dynamite,’ before performing ‘Save Me’ from ‘The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever.’

They then finished off with their song ‘Spring Day,’ which they said they hoped would bring comfort during the pandemic.

“It’s been the roughest summer ever, “but we know that spring will come.”

NPR’s wildly popular segment, ‘Tiny Desk Concert,’ has become a go-to for artists looking to show off their respective vocal prowesses in intimate settings.

Having seen the likes of Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion, and more serve up their hits acoustically in the past, the growing list of the platform’s high profile visitors grows monthly despite the series taking on a virtual take in light of the current global health crisis.

2019’s breakout, GRAMMY-winning starlet Billie Eilish is the latest to drop by – even going as far as recreating its well-known backdrop as scenery for her performance.

John Legend‘s latest album, ‘Bigger Love,’ may not have entered the Billboard 200 with his biggest first week sales (as we reported here), but that certainly is not the result of a lack of effort on his part.

The EGOT-winner has spent much of 2020 hitting the (virtual) promo trail in its support – nabbing features on high profile television shows, magazines, and more.

Despite seeing the LP’s accompanying tour postponed due to the current global health crisis (click here to read more), Legend’s still finding ways to bring the set’s content to the masses. His latest endeavor came in conjunction with NPR as he headlined their newest Tiny Desk Concert.

As we reported here, last year reality star-turned-beauty-mogul Kylie Jenner was at the center of a controversial debate on her ‘self-made billionaire status’ after Forbes magazine crowned her such thanks to the sale of her Kylie Cosmetics company (which the Wall Street Journal reported was a deal worth $1.2 billion at the time).

However, Forbes took to print Friday (May 29) to refute the year-old claim, even stating the company “is significantly smaller, and less profitable than the family has spent years leading the cosmetics industry and media outlets to believe.”
