Drake is the vendor that just keeps giving.
The Hip-Hop titan sprung a surprise on listeners of OVO Sound Radio on Apple’s Beats 1 tonight with the debut of new single ‘Summer Sixteen.’
Like most offerings from the Canadian bred star, the cut was crafted by longtime collaborator Noah ’40’ Shebib, Cubeatz, and Boi-1da – producer of Drizzy’s new Rihanna duet ‘Work.’
The song is the latest in a consistent stream of music from the star, who released two projects last year – ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ and the Future assisted ‘What A Time To Be Alive.’ New album ‘Views From The Six’ is due April, it has now been confirmed.
In a move that is sure to set tongues a’wagging, the Young Money maestro raps the following on ‘Summer’:
“I used to want to be on Roc-A-Fella, then I turned into Jay. Now I got a house in L.A., now I got a bigger pool than Ye / And look man, Ye’s pool is nice, mine’s just bigger is what I’m saying.”
Elsewhere, he takes aim again at Meek Mill, spitting:
“I could’ve killed you the first time, you don’t have to say it louder homie we heard you the first time”
