‘Creed’ dealt a dynamite blow to all box office projections this week.

The boxing flick, which continues the ‘Rocky’ legacy, capped off with a five-day domestic total of $42.6 million.

Impressive on a number of fronts, the figure is particularly noteworthy because it means the Michael B. Jordan film bests initial estimates ($35 million) by a considerable margin. What’s more, the sum sees the movie (which smartly co-stars Sylvester Stallone) become the most successful ‘Rocky’ movie launch of all-time – topping the $21 million debut of Stallone’s last stint as lead [2006’s ‘Rocky Balboa’].

With industry analysts predicting a $100 million eventual total for ‘Creed’ (which had a $35 million budget), its 29-year director Ryan Coogler and all involved have much to smile about.

The latest run of the Mona Scott Young production welcomes rapper Remy Ma to the cast – as well a host of other new names. Fret not, because regulars such as Yandy Smith, Amina Buddafly, and Rich Dollaz are also back in the mix too.

Pouring fuel on the fire of excitement, VH1 have uncaged a five minute supertrailer.

Fantasia is still the name on everybody’s lips after her soul-stirring Soul Train Awards tribute to Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds aired on BET and Centric last night.

Lending fiery renditions of the Edmonds-penned numbers ‘Exhale (Shoop Shoop)’ (originally performed by Whitney Houston) and ‘Superwoman,’ the performance won rave reviews from critics and viewers alike – a hot topic well over into the next day.  But, while many are praising the ‘Idol’ winner’s stunning showing as the highlight of the night, there’s one who doesn’t exactly share the sentiment – ‘Superwoman’s original singer Karyn White.

White, who took the song to the top of charts in 1989, took to Facebook moments ago to lend her thoughts on the performance and sound off on BET for not inviting her to take part in the tribute.

Brandy returns to the box on January 5th with new sitcom ‘Zoe Ever After.’

The ‘Moesha’ star once-again takes on a lead role and this time will tell the tale of Zoe Moon – a cosmetics mogul navigating through the challenges that comes with such a title, as well as being a mother and recent divorcee.

Ahead of its debut, BET aired a preview during last night’s ‘Soul Train Awards’ (which B-Rocka also performed on).

The short but sweet clip features the show’s theme song – which is sung by the Grammy winner herself.

Like previous years, this installment of the annual extravaganza paid homage to the achievements of the industry’s brightest R&B and Hip-Hop stars.

Hosted by Erykah Badu, the event (which was shot earlier this month) saw performances from the likes of Brandy, Jazmine Sullivan, R. Kelly, Jill Scott, Fantasia, Erica Campbell, and many more.

Hollywood was brought to its knees recently when the actor Charlie Sheen came forward to reveal that he was HIV positive.

His decision to announce the news came after a number of publications published a number of blind item articles spilling the beans without publishing his name or the identities of the sexual partners who claimed they were unaware of his status when they were intimate with him.

Days later, his fans learned of a story claiming he had paid over $6 million to bury footage of him engaging in an sexual act with a male adult entertainer.

Today, the rapper Ja Rule has weighed in on the drama.
