Now, after the publication came under fire for likening LeBron James to King Kong when he became the first black man to rock the mag’s cover, Wintour has praised Beyonce and Naomi Campbell for breaking barriers that once stopped women of colour from rising to the top in fashion.

chris brown gay pride tgj

As previously reported, singer/songwriter Chris Brown was ripped by an event promoter at this year’s “gay pride” weekend in Atlanta after reportedly failing to appear at a gig due to the presence of gay men in the audience.  Brown later offered an apology for the confusion and clapped back to inform fans he was never officially booked for the appearance.  Well…that hasn’t stopped the promoter from trying to recup funds for her loss.

While reports swarmed the net as recently as this morning indicating the promoter – Melissa Scott – is looking to get at least $12,50o from Chris and camp or else she’ll sue, the R&B bad boy is still vehemently denying any involvement with her.

ashanti-2015-12-thatgrapejuice

Here at That Grape Juice, we like to plough through to politics to celebrate and spotlight authentic talent.

As such, while many have moved on from the Ashanti moment in music, we can’t but hold out hope that another cycle of success will circle round for the singer. Why? Because there’s something oh so unfortunate about the fact that when she finally made the vocal strides many wanted from her, the masses had seemingly bounced on to pastures new.

She hasn’t helped matters by embarking on a messy independent stint, which spurned 2014’s dead on arrival ‘Braveheart.’

Still, the limp performance of said set hasn’t deterred the former First Lady of Murder INC from pressing on. And while performing in Long Beach over the weekend, she shared the fruits of her perseverance – a new song called ‘You Deserve.’

Fan footage of the performance has emerged and while it’s super LQ, the sound is super HQ. Get into new Ashanti after the jump…

Madonna‘s ‘Rebel Heart Tour’ kicked off on September 9th at Canada’s Bell Centre much to the delight of her fiercely loyal fan base.

No doubt aware that her new live show would be compared to that of her old rival’s Janet Jackson the ‘Frozen’ chanteuse delivered a set whipped up to promote the tour’s supporting album by placing its material at the heart of its concepts.

Fortunately, that didn’t stop her from honouring the older songs in her discography with performances her fans hope will win over critics currently enamoured by Jackson’s ‘Unbreakable’ showings.

How she did it?

Blink and you miss it.

Mariah Carey may been paid mega-bucks for her starring role in the latest ‘Game of War’ commercial, hence we’re scratching our heads as to why she’s literally in it for a mere matter of seconds.

The ‘We Belong Together’ belter, who succeeds former face Kate Upton, appears just once in the minute long spot – which sees words from her hit ‘Hero’ replayed several times.

We’re struggling to see the point. But, hey, get money Mimi!

It’s rare that Tamar Braxton holds her tongue about any topic. However, it’s emerged that the R&B belle has been maintaining a silence of sorts surrounding her new album ‘Calling All Lovers.’

Originally set to hit stores on September 11th, the project has instead put up for pre-order on said day and a new release date of October 2nd was confirmed by retailers. New song ‘Catfish’ was then immediately serviced to digital outlets.

Well, according to Tamar, she only found out about the switch when everyone else did. Awkward.com.
