It’s been a good year for a number of Hip-Hop’s brightest stars.

After making major moves in their respective lanes with their respective business ventures the likes of Drake, Nicki Minaj (above) Jay Z & Diddy have seen their earnings place them on Forbes’ Hip-Hop Cash Kings list this year.

How the list is formulated? Forbes bases it on “pretax income from touring, record sales, streaming, publishing, merchandise sales, endorsements and other business ventures. Management, agent and attorney fees are not deducted. Earnings are calculated from June 2014 to June 2015 and based on data from Nielsen SoundScan, Pollstar, the RIAA and from interviews with managers, lawyers, executives and a handful of the artists themselves.”

Her debut album ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’ showcased a way with words, vocals and poetry  that places her ahead of most (if not all) her contemporaries…at least on a talent tip.

Alas, it’s the stories Azealia Banks creates for the media and not her music that has seen her pull in the most attention since she touched down on planet Pop four years ago, and for all the wrong reasons.

Today, footage captured her of calling an air steward a f***** saw her stripped of her “verified” status on Twitter and come under fire from critics who blasted her for what they’re calling a homophobic verbal assault.

Now, as she continues to function as an artist outside of the major label system we ask this simple question…

What’s next for Azealia Banks?

Here at TGJ HQ we feel her unique gift will see her follow in the footsteps of Grace Jones and dip in and out of mainstream approval and outlast a number of her unoriginal musicality-deficient rivals.

However, if the reaction to this scandal is anything to go by the rapper will have a long way to go before reaching the heights her talent should have already elevated her to.

Do you agree?

Banking on controversy to keep her in the headlines has been the foundation of Azealia Banks’ career. Now, as recent footage evidences, the Yung Rapunzel is not letting up or down on that expectation.

Recently demonstrating her fury is not limited to land, the rapstress took to Delta airlines to wield insults to crew members and passengers – even slamming the flight attendant with homophobic slurs.

Did you miss all the ruckus?  Catch the video below and see her interesting response:

Perseverance.

It’s a trait Leona Lewis clearly possesses.

The songbird, who is the most successful X Factor winner of all time, unfortunately hasn’t enjoyed similar success with her latest album ‘I Am.’

Released September 11th, the set charted at #38 on the Billboard 200 after selling 9,125 copies. On home soil in the UK, it didn’t fare much better – opening at #12 with first week numbers of 8,500.

Nonetheless, the promotional push continues and led Lewis to the ‘Late Late Show With James Corden’ last night where she performed current Stateside single ‘Thunder.’

Peep the performance below, as well as the singer’s take on her sales…
