With the 55th Annual Grammy Awards approaching, one might assume Frank Ocean‘s biggest worry this week would be the stress of perfecting his performance on the night.

Unfortunately, following an ugly run in with chart topping Pop sensation Chris Brown last week, the last few days have seen his upcoming set at the night overshadowed by the fight’s aftermath.

An aftermath, that today saw unearth the official police documents on the attack, which reveal that the acclaimed singer- who admitted to have been romantically involved with a male friend last year- was not only the victim of a physical assault, but also on the receiving end of a homophobic slur.

With 3.5 million albums sold worldwide since 2010, Nicki Minaj‘s meteoric rise to fame came as no surprise to any who’d followed her career since 2007.

Rising from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School to become the world’s most celebrated Female Rapper since Lauryn Hill, it’s safe to say that the Rapper’s talent and tenacity are to thank for her ever impressive success.

Unfortunately, as is often the case in music, the success of one act goes some way to highlight the inadequacies of those who came before them.

In this case, inadequacies held by one time pin-up Lil Kim, who despite never enjoying a solo hit in her life, is convinced she is to thank for Minaj’s run at the top.

‘She Bad Bad’ and now she’s back back! Rapstress Eve is gearing up for the release of her new album ‘Lip Lock’ (due May 14th) and is hitting the promo rounds early in support of the set.

The femcee, who now lives in London, stopped by The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1 New York for a super insightful chat.

Relaxed, yet poised, the former Ruff Ryder dished on her hiatus, comeback, being an independent artist, and much more. Perhaps most interesting, though, were her words on fellow femcees Nicki Minaj and Azealia Banks – the latter of who she alludes turned down a collaboration request.

If you know anything about That Grape Juice, you’ll know we love us some Lil Kim.

However, thanks to a number of amateurish business moves, a well publicized jealous streak and the complacency which saw a certain Nicki Minaj take her recipe and make a much better meal out of it, it’s become a little hard to support the ‘Black Friday‘ Rapper.

Now listen to her remix of Rihanna‘s rising smash, ‘Pour It Up, at your own risk below…

That’s right, in what may have made for an interesting night out, the threesome all hit the same venue- with Tran arriving shortly after Chris with another man in hand.

Any artist who appreciates the technique of singing at a professional level appreciates the late great Whitney Houston. Case, point Nicole Scherzinger – who deems the legend as her idol.

The ‘Boomerang’ singer shows her X Factor in a new shoot for the UK’s Evening Standard in which she pays homage to Houston by recreating one of her classic looks from the 80’s.

Here’s hoping she’s also channeled some of Whitney’s hit-making ability with her upcoming new album. Its lead single gets progressively worse with each listen, yet we’re still hopeful she’ll deliver with the project as a body of work.
