Already thrilling audiences aboard the BET+ reboot of ‘First Wives Club,’ GRAMMY-winning singer-actress Jill Scott did it again – this time trying her hand at a movie-adapted reboot of Michael Landon‘s classic TV series, ‘Highway to Heaven.’
The Stacey K. Black-directed film, which aired on Saturday (November 6), saw Scott soar as an angel who returns to Earth to help troubled students and families through her work as a school counselor in disguise.
Also starring Barry Watson, Ben Daon, Robert Moloney, Victoria Bidewell, and more, look inside to see the viewership figures ‘Highway’ drove to Lifetime over the weekend.
Before the first “trick-or-treat” could even ring out in the streets, Hallmark had already begun its official 2021 #CountdowntoChristmas campaign lined with 41 new, holiday-inspired films to get us in a yuletide mood.
After a well-received October 22 kick off, October 29 brought with it ‘Christmas in Harmony’ – a musical romantic comedy toplined by an all-star cast that included GRAMMY winner Michelle Williams (of Destiny’s Child), GRAMMY nominee Luke James, screen & stage legend Loretta Devine, and Ashleigh Murray as its leading lady.
And – if official reports are anything to judge by – their joint star power did more than brighten the top of the tree. Look below to see how many small screens were illuminated by ‘Harmony’ on Friday.
With its 2018 debut, Tracy Morgan‘s ‘The Last O.G.’ became a game-changing, ratings knockout for TBS – even garnering the network its strongest premiere numbers for an original series.
In the years since, however, the laughs and critical acclaim have waned alongside a dwindling viewership that seemed poise to take its biggest hit once its award-winning leading lady, Tiffany Haddish, announced her exit in late 2020 after a three-season run.
The first taste of ‘Last’ without her came Tuesday (October 26) with the premiere of the show’s season 4. Hop inside to see how it fared.
Tuesday (October 19) brought with it the highly anticipated premiere of ABC’s ‘Queens’ – a musical drama that sees its four leading ladies (Brandy, Eve, Naturi Naughton, and Nadine Velazquez) depict a disbanded Hip Hop quartet from the 90’s who regroup to take the music world by storm.
Building buzz for the Zahir McGhee-created jaunt with sizzling music videos and an aggressive promotional campaign to trumpet its arrival, the show’s hourlong premiere also capitalized on being ushered in by the beginning of a new ‘Bachelorette’ season.
With those assets combined, hop inside to see the royal ratings that accompanied the ‘Queens’ unveiling.
The Lee Daniels-produced drama, ‘Our Kind of People,’ may not have courted the kind of audience the superstar director/producer is used to garnering for his television efforts upon its September 21 premiere, but he more than rebounded with the premiere of ABC’s ‘The Wonder Years’ the following night.

Though currently steeped in controversy for boasting its most diverse pool of nominees over its 73-year history (yet not awarding any of them in major categories), the EMMYs does have something to celebrate as its 2021 incarnation has ended a streak of low ratings.

It’s arguable that ‘Queen Sugar’ ratings took a noticeable dip between the finale of its fourth season and premiere of its fifth due an extended, year-and-a-half absence from screens.
Luckily, fans didn’t have to wait nearly as long for the kick off of the critically acclaimed series’ sixth swing at bat, which premiered September 7 (just five months after its predecessor waved farewell to viewers).
While stability proved to be an upside of the swift return, the figures attached to the season 6 premiere still rank as the show’s lowest to date.

The BET Awards may have posted an impressive uptick in viewership last year with its first virtual incarnation (as we reported here), but new reports reveal “Culture’s Biggest Night” was unable to continue that trajectory with their latest edition.
Despite aligning the star power of megawatt talent of Cardi B, H.E.R, Lil Nas X, DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion, and more on its most packed performance roster to date, their combined shine – thank to steep competition from televised U.S. Olympics programming – wasn’t enough to illuminate ratings tallies.

The 2021 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) may have packed on the star power with dynamic performances from the likes of BTS, The Weeknd, P!nk, Alicia Keys, and more (as we reported here), but the assembly of hitmakers still wasn’t enough to win Sunday night’s ratings war.

The 93rd Academy Awards may have left tongues wagging due to its moving musical performances, shocking snubs, and celebrated wins Sunday (April 25), but updated Nielsen reports reveal the ceremony itself was far from a winner (on the ratings front).
Courting a considerable drop in viewership from last year’s numbers – which were named the show’s lowest in its televised history – the nearly four-hour hostless affair pulled in even lower figures with its 2021 showing.
