Microwave music maven Rihanna may have passed on putting out new music last year (due to insurmountable competition), however it appears the star is looking to make quite the splash in 2014.

For, in a move few could have anticipated, film house DreamWorks have announced that the 25-year-old is piecing together a concept album based around their animated movie ‘Home’ – which will hit stores in November.

As at writing, the release will serve as the first new material from the model since 2012’s ‘Unapologetic’.

Drake‘s ‘Would You Like A Tour’ tour rolled into Paris tonight, continuing the the European leg of the hit trek.

Residents of the French capital were treated to live renditions of the Young Money maestro’s smashes – including the Rihanna assisted ‘Take Care’.

The Noise herself surprised the thousands in attendance at the Bercy by joining Drizzy to perform the cut, as well as her own strip-club anthem ‘Pour It Up’. Let’s just say the latter saw the 25-year-old sounding like she was starting a car.

As the likes of Miguel and Jhene Aiko continue to push the genre to brave and bold new heights, Mariah Carey has declared that she will never leave R&B…doing so during a recent conversation with ‘95.5WPLJ.’

Explaining her reasons for this as she detailed her thoughts on Electronic Dance Music (EDM), the “Make it Happen” maestra also explained why so many of the hits she spawned in the 90s came armed with Dance remixes, and why her new material may be on course to doing the same.

One’s got to give it to Jason Derulo.

For, while a number (if not all) of his contemporaries have made the mistake of sullying their brands in their quests for “credibility”, the last year has seen the ‘Tattoo” artist hold on to his ‘All American’ nature and repackage himself as a cooler, fresher and a little more Urban version of himself.

Impressive, as this organic transition has come without the side order of ‘try hard’ that currently plagues Justin Bieber’s public image, and turned him into Warner’s multi-format boy next door, nabbing sizeable spins on “Power 106″ and “Capital FM” alike!
